  • S1:E2 - Erin Mueller
    Jul 1 2024

This week I welcome my beautiful and amazing co-host, Erin Mueller, to share her story.

Erin has been out as bisexual for over 20 years and has dated multiple genders. She is from an in between generation of LGBT people; born during the AIDS epidemic but as a young adult had Glee and other popular media showing queer people in positive and accepting roles. When she was coming out, at the time there wasn’t a lot of words for fluidity other than bisexual so that is the word she chose and chooses to still identify with.

    Bisexuality to Erin means:

    1) her gender and

    2) other genders

It has nothing to do with the gender binary in her eyes.

Erin has been married to her spouse for almost 14 years and shares two beautiful children with him. She chose a person to share her life with, not based on their gender or anything else of that nature. He is an amazing ally to the community which is appreciated- he has done so much research and tried to immerse himself as much as possible to be there for me and our friends and family who are queer as well.

Recently Erin and her spouse wrote a children’s book explaining aspects of mental health to kids. She is an avid reader and loves to be outdoors; whether on the beach, walking trails, or just simply sitting in a chair on the patio or on the grass at home.

Welcome to episode one of The Rainbow Hour. Every episode shares the story of someone's coming out journey....and this week, it's my turn. It's a little raw and personal....but it's honest. And it's a story that I hope will connect with others and give them the strength and courage to take their own journey.
