  • The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit reminds the public that anyone seeking relief from the scorching temperatures hitting metro Detroit, can visit their local Salvation Army corps community center to stay safe and cool.

    As heat advisories have been in effect with heat indexes topping 95 degrees in metro Detroit. The nonprofit’s 13 corps community centers are serving as cooling centers during normal business hours, as well as providing utility assistance to those having

    difficulty paying their electric bills.

    Metro Detroiters can get respite from the dangerous temperatures, by visiting any

    of The Salvation Army’s locations.
