Great story

The story is well told but the nuance of jumping shouldn’t have been so… easy. Half the time I’m thinking there should be way more people with the ability. Acting was really good anyway and can’t wait for more.

Truly exceptional execution breathing new life into the time travel theme

I rarely leave reviews because I listen to so many audiobooks, but I chose to with this one because it had the rare ability to leave me quite pissed at the end. I wasn’t angry about the story or the performance, I was angry that it was over!

Time travel stories have a tough time being original simply because they’ve been explored nearly to death over the years. While this one doesn’t really bring anything new to the time travel trope (random science nonsense gives folks the ability to travel back in time, listener just needs to check reality at the door and enjoy the ride) it does do an absolutely phenomenal job of bringing the story to life and introducing us to a well thought out group of characters that we come to love or hate, cheer for or against through fantastic storytelling.

If there’s one thing that sets this one apart from other great Audible titles, it’s the insanely GREAT performance of the full cast and the sound production team.

This is the best full cast, full effects performance in an audiobook I’ve ever heard, bar none. It’s even better than the Niel Gaiman Sandman Series and both seasons of the Impact Winter podcast.

Seriously, even if you’re not a sci-fi fan, give this podcast a try simply to enjoy the experience of a perfectly executed production. This is what all full cast audiobooks should be like and I’d be absolutely thrilled to see this make its way to a television miniseries or series.

Glad I found this.

I enjoyed this very much. The acting was brilliant, the story was brilliant, and the premise was also, brilliant. It didn’t miss any chances to throw in the usual “straight white men” wokeness crap, but having our intrepid hero be a black man could make for “interesting” situations in pre 1960’s western society. All the same, loved it!

Ditto to the other political rewriting reviews

I enjoyed the story a lot because I was able to look past the rewriting of real history. Given that this is a story about rewriting history, I figured I can pretend this took place in an alternate reality. But I have to dock points for that being in here and me having to escape the story to rationalize it that way. See the other reviews for examples.
