In the finale of Chapter 1 of The Usual NPCs, the PCs have completed their mission and retrieved the ancient artifact for their collegiate benefactors after a long and harrowing journey. The road back home, however, is fraught with illusions and goblins and trolls. Oh my! Boomer’s past may be coming back to haunt him, and the rest of our PCs, as the adventurers hit a little bump in the road on the way back to Sparrow’s Rest.

After learning that the gods have been gaslighting the entire nation of Midland, the PCs travel back to Karnath’s cave/B&B to pick up their furry little charge, Honeybun.
