The importance of having an inspection when buying a home

  • Resumen

  • We all know finding your dream home can be so exciting that you may be tempted to skip the home inspection! Trust me when I say, don't skip this step in the process!!

The home inspection is not necessarily as painful as you think, and will make you aware of the potential issues of the home. We want you to make an informed decision. Want to learn more?

We need to have that conversation with buyers and explain to them why they must not skip the inspection in the buying process.

In this Podcast, we will be talking to Maria Cristina Moore

Maria is from Fort Collins and graduated from Colorado College with an MBA from CSU. Her mother is from South America and she lived there for 20 years. Maria met her husband Alex in Bolivia where they imported heavy machinery and worked on large-construction projects before engaging in the home inspection industry. Maria and Alex own ProCheck Inspection in Fort Collins.  Together they have 2 daughters in middle school and like to golf, travel, and cook.

Obviously, as a Real Estate Agent, I am familiar with home inspections. When you purchase a home, you need to know what you are buying. Having a home inspection is part of the process, whether it is just for your information or to give you the opportunity to have the seller fix some defects.

In this episode, here's what you will learn:

    - What a home inspection is

    - What a home inspector is checking in the home

    - The difference between what needs to be fixed right away and what is routine maintenance.

    - The importance of re-inspection after repairs have been completed

    - Average cost of a home inspection
