    • Why deeper inquiry into yourself is at the heart of the spiritual journey

    • Why hiding your power creates disarray

    • Tom’s top advice for connecting with yourself on a deeper level

    Bio

From a young age, Tom Slater sought to learn through direct experience, a path that has taken him across the globe, immersing himself in many traditional and indigenous cultures. His quest to understand himself and the life he was experiencing led him to explore the very nature of his existence, often guiding him down challenging paths, including struggles with addiction and depression.

Through this deep exploration, Tom gradually opened up to a more profound connection with his own humanity, confronting the limitations that prevented him from fully feeling and embracing it. His personal journey has taught him invaluable lessons, enabling him to be present with others in a spontaneous and creative way, facilitating their own process of discovery.

Tom’s work, particularly through The Sapience Retreat, focuses on helping individuals integrate all aspects of their being – mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual – in a way that fosters a true sense of homecoming, both within themselves and in connection with others. At the heart of his approach is cultivating an open awareness and a deep sense of choice, empowering people to show up more fully and authentically in life.

    • What Ryan and Layla learned from opening their relationship

    Bio

Ryan Cheney is a therapist, seeker, and guide devoted to the process of inner transformation. Based in Austin, TX, he works with individuals and couples to uncover what stands in the way of lasting change – and how to meet those blocks with presence, compassion, and courage. His work is deeply rooted in Internal Family Systems and a profound curiosity about how people evolve.

Before turning his focus inward, Ryan was the founder of Raaka Chocolate, a Brooklyn-based bean-to-bar company built on transparency and ethical sourcing. But his truest calling lies in the inner landscapes: the quiet, tender spaces where real healing happens. His path has been shaped by deep inquiry, spiritual practice, and a love for the moments when people reconnect with the truth of who they are.

Ryan believes transformation doesn’t have to be a battle – it can be a remembering. He’s most alive when exploring the alchemy of change, the courage it requires, and the unexpected grace that can come when we stop striving and start listening.
