    In the eighteenth episode of our second series, we have one of our most impactful conversations yet, with an enlightening discussion with Claire Pedrick; Coach and Author of one of the most important books on coaching; Simplifying Coaching. _____________ In this episode Claire shares her story which lead her to leaving the teaching profession and becoming a coach, almost by accident. She explores how the narrative around coaching lead her to questioning her own beliefs. She explains how coaching should be much simpler than it is made out to be, and how this lead her to her book; Simplifying Coaching.


    She shares many of her insights and some approaches we can all use, and in fact should use to lead more effectively and develop those around us. Claire is a fantastic coach, and a very personable guest on the show, in this episode she you cannot help but resonate with her approaches. The wealth of insights and lessons which she shares, we can all learn from and apply to any field of leadership.

    In the seventeenth episode of our second series, we have a very special episode, where we have an in depth discussion with Brent Peters; Manager of Bacup Borough Football Club and the worlds longest serving football manager. _____________ In this episode Brent shares his story which lead him to Bacup Borough and what has kept him at the club for the last 26 years. He also shares many of his opinions around managing within football and the environment itself. With his tenure spanning such a large time, Brent has a wealth of experience and has witnessed the changing environment of the English football league and non-league system.


    Brent has a passion for football and his honesty around his approaches is refreshing, many of his stories and anecdotes have such a wealth of insights and lesson which we can all learn from and apply to any field of leadership.

    This conversation was such a privilege and Brent gave us such a no holds barred insight into his story and his views on the field where he plies his trade. Brent shares with us the sacrifices which he had to make to save the football club; both financially and with his career in the game.

    In the thirteenth episode of our second series, we have a very broad and passionate discussion with Eric Beck; Founder of Founders Fire.

    In this episode Eric very passionately shares his message about providing employees a game worth playing. This message is so key, with employee motivation hitting a low and the epidemic of quiet quitting, Eric's message gives us a stark reality check around what may be causing this.

    During this conversation we also touch on topics such as how society has out-paced biological development, leaving us with Neanderthal brains developed to fight or flight, within a society wrought with triggers. We also delve into a passionate topic of his, and mine, in terms of sustainability and the global crisis surrounding climate change and sustainable practices. How can we as leaders possibly have an impact on such a large issue?

    This conversation was very different to many of the other podcast episodes we have had recently, but it is equally as enlightening and there are so many ideas and practices which can be taken on board and implemented. This episode's message is key; we must invest in the long term vision to build a sustainable and meaningful organisation, which provides its employees with a game worth playing!
