Tony Griffin; An All-Star, an Author and a Performance Specialist

  • Resumen

  • Our guest for Season 3 Episode 7 of the GAA Minor Moments podcast with Electric Ireland is Former Clare hurling All-Star Tony Griffin.

Griffin reminisces fondly on his minor days sharing memories and advice to those coming up the ranks now, emphasising that minor is the start point in many players careers – and to keep persevering if selection doesn’t go your way.

Throughout the episode, Griffin revisits his time playing for Clare and some of the great stories and managers he came across along the way. He delves into life after hurling, where he works as a performance specialist with Kerry football.

Fergal and Tony touch on many aspects of mindset and the importance of this side of the game. They speak about Griffin’s most recent book, ‘The Teenager’s Book of Life’, written to help teenagers navigate difficult stages of life, as well as exploring the mindsets of some of the best in the GAA, like David Clifford and Tony Kelly.

Every Tuesday well known Irish stars will share memories from their early sporting careers and reflect on the defining moments from playing Minor and how that shaped them both on and off the pitch.
