  • The infrastructure needs at the county jail continue to be a problem. Mental health issues with those incarcerated, and a high recidivism rate, all point to a need for the county commissioners to focus efforts on the current infrastructure needs of the Grand Traverse county jail. Sheriff Michael Shea and his staff are doing an excellent job under the current conditions. It's time for the county commissioners to focus their attention on the infrastructure deeds at the county jail.
