In 2001, British tourist Peter Falconio and his girlfriend Joanne Lees were traveling around the world on the trip of a lifetime.

On a cold night in June 2001, the couple were driving through the remote Australian outback. A passing motorist named Bradley John Murdoch motioned to the couple to stop their vehicle because of car troubles. Peter pulled over and got out of the car. What happened next is the stuff of nightmares.

Joanne heard a loud bang and Peter dropped out of sight. Bradley then attempted to abduct Joanne, but she managed to escape into the desert where she hid for hours.

Bradley would eventually be charged with Peter’s murder, but Joanne faced vicious attacks from the media who questioned her every move. The media interest in this trial was so large that the court went under a massive renovation costing almost $1 million dollars.

23 years later, Peter’s body has never been found.

  • Wade Wilson killed two women during an insane crime spree
    Jul 11 2024
    Timestamps:
    (7:54) - Karen Read Update
    (18:00) - Wade Wilson

In October 2019, Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz each made innocent choices that would lead to the end of their lives.

Kristine and a friend, Stephanie, went to a bar to listen to live music. At the venue, they met Wade Wilson. Stephanie described Wade as ‘friendly and charming.’ Kristine and Wade went back to Kristine’s where Wade strangled Kristine in her bed. He then stole her vehicle and fled the scene.

Later that day, while driving the stolen car, Wade approached Diane who was walking to work. He asked her for directions and he enticed her into the vehicle. He then beat and strangled Diane before pushing her out of the car and running her over until she looked like ‘spaghetti.’

Wade is now facing the death penalty for the murders and is due to be sentenced.

In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss Wade Wilson, known as the Cape Coral Strangler or the Deadpool Killer.

Great Podcast to add to your favorites!

I have to start my review with — I love their conversations before they dive into the case! I enjoy hearing what they are doing in their lives and how different the weather, activities, personal dynamics are yet they are still interested in the same things!

They do a great job reviewing both new and old cases. Their case conversations are both funny and insightful. They do a great job researching their cases and bringing the victims and their story to life.
