There is a white colonial style house on Essex Street in Salem, Massachusetts.

If it looks familiar to you it’s because it was used in the Disney movie HOCUS POCUS.

But this house is not just a movie location.

Its history is much more interesting than that.

It’s been mobbed, modernized, and reutilized. One inhabitant died of smallpox, and a later inhabitant caught fire.

Today the Ropes Mansion is owned by the Peabody Essex Museum.

You can visit it and ghost tours are also available.

In this week’s episode of the True Hauntings Podcast we put on our Pointy witch’s hats

and take our magic wands down Essex Street to knock on the front door of Ropes Mansion so that we can find out for ourselves who is still haunting this building and what they might want!

It's only about 10 weeks before we visit Salem for ourselves and we can hardly contain our excitement.

Expect a lot of stories about Salem between now and then and also check out our socials for photos and lives while we are overseas.

Templemichael Church in County Waterford Ireland has been the scene of a large number of reported paranormal sightings and folktales.

Now, in ruins, it stands as a reminder of the religious upheavals that faced the Irish nation during rebellions and wars centuries ago.

The Church is known to be the site of strange occurrences including sightings of ghost monks, strange large black dogs, and even ropes that appeared across the main road at Templemichael, causing drivers/cyclists to panic but then disappearing.

The ruins of the Old St Mary's Church in Clophill, Bedfordshire, UK has an enormous reputation for the occult and paranormal.

In 1963, an incident made headlines across the world and put the fear of God into the local community.

Out in the middle of no where in South Africa lies a township that looks like it has been transported directly from Victorian England and randomly dumped in a totally foreign landscape.

It is a grand Hotel with lace ironwork and big windows with wicker chairs on the verandah.

The story of how the hotel came to be is strange in itself, but it is also haunted by several spirits who came to stay but have never left.

Eva Carrière, also known as Eva C, was a French medium, and spiritualist, who gained attention in the early 20th century.

She is particularly associated with the field of spirit photography and séances.

Eva C, became known for her ability to produce physical manifestations of spirits during the séance sessions that she held.

Once upon a time, there was an old pub in Glastonbury called The George and Pilgrim. It was a popular stop for travelers but it was said that on nights when the fog rolled in, strange things happened.

People would hear strange noises creeping out of the pub, moans and howls, like something was waiting to come out. Others would vanish without a trace, never to be seen again.

No one knew what secret lurked within the walls of The George and Pilgrim, but everyone was sure it was something sinister.

Common wisdom was to steer clear of the place at all costs.

In a town known for ghosts and the supernatural, and dubbed the occult capital of England, The Pilgrim and George is thought to be one of the most haunted buildings in town and what went on at the George and Pilgrim, still goes on. Visitors today still report being visited by spectral figures visiting them during the night’s sleep.

Glastonbury has to be one of Renata's favourite places to visit in England - she has been there four times and if we event think about going to the UK it HAS to be on the itinerary!
