  • Resumen

  • It is easy to feel overwhelmed at times. It's also easy to forget some of the more complicated (though necessary) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions. The questions: "What is true? What is Useful? What is Good?" can serve as a "pocket CBT tool," as I am fond of calling it. They also serve as a good basis for framing healthy core beliefs to provide stability in even the most difficult of times.

As I am sure many will ask, the definitions for each of these are:

True: Objectively verifiable. Grounded in reality. Free from interpretation or distortion.
Useful: How can I frame the truth in such a way that it is useful to me in the present moment and immediate future?
Good: How can I frame what is true and useful in such a way that is ALSO orienting me toward a future good?
