    The cross represents the ultimate sacrifice, offering hope and forgiveness for humanity's sins, and is a reminder of God's love and grace. No one took Jesus’ life from Him. God had given him a specific task. That task was to lay down his life on behalf of the world. We’ve arrived at Easter Sunday. Throughout the world the light is back, no more darkness. Churches are filled with Christians shouting back and forth “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!” Christ rolled the tombstone away from people's lives to let them be free. Christ sends us, into the very spaces and places we would rather forget. Christ sends us into the very households of people who look, think, and act differently.     The Bible teaches that we Christians are not immune to suffering. Instead, it emphasizes that trials and tribulations are part of the process of sanctification and are designed to enable believers to grow into the image of Christ. The message for us, if we believe in Him, is this Through Jesus, we are justified, which means He set us into a right relationship with God. As Paul puts it, we have "access to this grace." Everything's ready for us to live with God again. We enjoy access to God's grace The pursuit of peace apart from God is portrayed as fruitless. The Bible warns that the wicked cannot experience the peace that comes from God, and the superficial promises of peace given by human leaders are exposed as inadequate.     The Christian church began the season of Lent last Wednesday on Ash Wednesday. Lent is a 40-day period of penitential preparation for Easter, involving fasting, abstinence, and almsgiving. Someone who spent time on the space station said this: From orbit, that Earth doesn’t look like a collection of countries, borders, or competing interests. It appears as a single, radiant blue sphere suspended in darkness. No lines divide continents. No flags mark territory. From 250 miles above the surface, every human conflict suddenly looks small — and every human connection looks unavoidable. The “overview effect” is a profound cognitive shift reported by many who see Earth from space. It’s the sudden realization that humanity shares a single, closed system. No backups. No escape route. No second home. Now just imagine how God thinks of us disobedient sinners. Yet still, he loves us. He sent his son to die on the cross for all us sinners.
