Understanding Dyslexia

De: India Marzin
  • Resumen

  • Dyslexia is commonly thought of as a condition that hinders correct spelling, but in reality it is a more complex condition to do with how people process information. Join me as I explore this through real stories, looking at what impact dyslexia has on people how they live through it, what they're coping strategies are and what they feel they have gained from having a different information processing system.Let's stop focusing on what dyslexics can't do.

    Apr 22 2021

In this episode we’re joined by fellow VisCom student Jack. Jack and I do the same university course and during our latest ‘group crit’ he expressed to the group that he was dyslexic. This obviously led onto me asking him to take part as a guest on the show. Jack very kindly was interested in sharing his story with us. Join us to find out more about Jack’s unique story where he tells us all about only finding out about his dyslexia only when he arrived at university.

I appreciate this podcast being created

I am dyslexic. Was diagnosed in 2nd/3rd grade. Nice to relate to others. Only thing I’ll say is in this first episode I’m listening to it’s hard to hear the woman she sounds far away and echoey. But thank you for the representation this is huge for me.
