On April 19, 1995, a homemade bomb went off at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, killing 168 people, including 19 children. The ensuing manhunt was one of the largest in American history and led to the arrest of an unlikely suspect.

In January 2018, 17-year-old Jordan Turpin took a leap of faith out of her family's window to rescue her siblings, who were shackled to their beds. Jordan, who had never spoken to a stranger before, was determined to end the lifelong torture she and her twelve siblings had endured. Her brave escape revealed the horrifying conditions inside the Turpin home, shocking the public and exposing years of severe abuse and neglect.

In 1981, Ladonna Mathis and her two sons were brutally murdered in their rural South Dakota home. Over 40 years later, the crime has yet to be solved, although most believe the killer to be John Mathis, Ladonna's husband and the children's father.
