Plus, a south Georgia immigrant detention center leads the country in deaths in custody, and a new report shows most of those fatalities could have been prevented with better medical care. And a years-long dispute between the City of Atlanta and two then-college students who were pulled from their car and tased by police in 2020 is ending. Also the state of Georgia is on the cusp of permitting a controversial mine next to the Okefenokee Swamp and the federal government is turning to a tool it’s never before employed in the east to try to protect the swamp.
