    James “Jim” Burling is an attorney and vice president of Legal Affairs at Pacific Legal Foundation where he has been since 1983. Jim is a proponent for property owners and property rights and has litigated cases from Alaska to Florida. He is a member of the Federalist Society’s Environmental Law and Property Rights Practice Group’s Executive Committee.
    He is also the author of “Nowhere to Live: The Hidden Story of America’s Housing Crisis. In 2001, Jim successfully argued a major property rights case, Palazzolo v. Rhode Island before the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is also a board member of the Veteran Bushido Brotherhood, grounded on physical fitness, for veterans that still want to feel like they’re part of the tribe.

Dr. Dean later became flight surgeon for Naval Air Station Pensacola and is now in private practice in Pensacola, Florida.
