Will a below average Baltimore Ravens offensive line hamper the offensive firepower of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry? Can a revitalized Los Angeles Rams offense crack the top 3 with the one-two punch of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua catching passes from Matt Stafford? But really, is next season shaping up to be a battle of last year's conference champs, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers?

  • 6 best case/worst case scenarios & hammering NFL MVP bets | Inside Coverage
    Jul 23 2024

Jason Fitz and Frank Schwab pick 6 NFL teams and play a game of “Angels & Devils” to predict the best case and worst case scenarios for each team.

    (08:10) - Green Bay Packers

    (15:00) - Los Angeles Rams

    (20:20) - Dallas Cowboys

    (27:00) - Los Angeles Chargers

    (31:46) - New York Jets

    (39:45) - Buffalo Bills

    (45:15) - Hammer It: MVP

On this episode of Inside Coverage, Jason Fitz and Frank Schwab pick 6 NFL teams and play a game of “Angels & Devils” to predict the best case and worst case scenarios for each team.

They start with the Packers, who still have something to prove in the regular season, and then move onto the Rams. Frank says Matt Stafford is coming off the best season of his career and that Sean McVay is energized, so why is Fitz down on the Rams?

The guys try their best to disagree on the Dallas Cowboys but end up just agreeing with each other, and maybe disagreeing with everyone else, about America’s Team and what we can expect from them in the regular season.

The Chargers have Jim Harbaugh, but does that mean they’ll immediately be better? Or maybe worse? Once again, the guys struggle to disagree on this one.

Frank picks the Jets as the #1 seed in the AFC but explains why it makes sense, and Fitz is waiting for the inevitable meltdown if the Jets aren’t great. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills might excel without the weight of big expectations on them for once.

Finally, we close the show with “Hammer It”, where the guys each tell you who they would put money on to win the NFL MVP Award this year. Tune in to find out why Frank is excited to bet on Jared Goff!

  • Aiyuk's trade demand, Training Camp storylines & can the Chiefs threepeat? | Zero Blitz
    Jul 18 2024

Jason Fitz, Jori Epstein and Frank Schwab discuss Brandon Aiyuk’s trade request, break down NFL training camp storylines and play a game called “Two things can be true”.

(05:25) - 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk requests trade

(23:20) - Training camp: Who should be the Patriots starting QB?

(27:55) - Training camp: Who should be the Steelers starting QB?

(34:00) - Will the Chiefs threepeat?

(41:05) - Is Trevor Lawrence overpaid?

(45:35) - Are the Cardinals good or just exciting?

(51:00) - Are the Eagles Super Bowl bound?

(58:45) - Can Harbaugh turn the Chargers around in year 1?

On this episode of Inside Coverage, the “dream trio” of Jason Fitz, Jori Epstein and Frank Schwab get you ready for the start of NFL Training Camp.

The show kicks off with Brandon Aiyuk’s trade request, which everyone acknowledges the San Francisco 49ers are not likely to accommodate. Jori explains how and why the 49ers can keep Aiyuk, even beyond this season, while Frank tries to come up with a good trade package and a team that might be willing to offer it.

After talking about Jori’s favorite cities to visit for training camp, the group wonders when the Patriots will start Drake Maye at QB and if Justin Fields can overtake Russell Wilson as the Steelers starting QB.

In a new segment called “Two things can be true”, the gang discusses how the Chiefs can be a better team but not have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl, why the Jaguars had to overpay Trevor Lawrence, who will make the Cardinals the highest scoring offense in the NFL (but not improve their record), how the Eagles can either fire their head coach or be a Super Bowl favorite and why Jim Harbaugh was the right hire for the Chargers (even if the Chargers won’t be good this season).

  • How new defensive-minded head coaches will affect the 2024 season | The Exempt List
    Jun 26 2024

On today’s episode of The Exempt List, Charles McDonald is joined by NFL writer Diante Lee from The Ringer to take a look at how a few former defensive coaches will fare as a new head coaches for their teams.

They start the show by discussing a few current topics in the NFL including Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper getting approval for public funds in order to renovate the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Even though fans will be happy to have a much improved stadium, there seems to be a bitter feeling helping an owner that hasn’t helped his team much in the past few years.

Charles and Diante then shift to their main topic for the episode: how this year’s collection of new defensive-minded head coaches will fare in their first years on the job for their respective teams. Kicking off the conversation, they chat about how Dan Quinn will do at the helm of the Washington Commanders, despite him seemingly not being their first option during the hiring cycle. They also talk about whether Antonio Pierce’s success as the interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders was largely because of the competition his squad faced and if Jerod Mayo will be able to duplicate Bill Belichick’s success with the New England Patriots defense.

The guys close out the show giving their thoughts on the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, the importance of the “The Pop Out - Ken & Friends” concert and why this feud brought back memories of the old days of rap.

(1:11) - Carolina Panthers stadium renovations

(7:04) - Is Dan Quinn in over his head in Washington?

(14:59) - Can Raheem Morris bring the Falcons back to relevancy?

(22:13) - Is Jerrod Mayo set-up for success?

(24:14) - Antonio Piece no-longer Las Vegas’ interim head coach

    (29:52) - Mike Macdonald’s challenge in Seattle

(38:00) - Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef
