As I began to sit down and think about today’s episode, I was struck with the of question of, WHY?

Why does life matter? I mean – truly what is the meaning of it all? I do not ask this to be morbid or negative but the great scholars and minds the world has ever known have asked this very question and if they have asked it, why shouldn’t I?

So I began to think about life and its beginnings and then it was like – Life matters because it is a miracle. Every life comes to be through a process that is a miracle – the human body is a miracle performing machine that is in no way accidental – it is purposeful and wonderful. I chose to see a life as a miracle and miracles matter, so therefore Your Life Matters, even on a most basic level.

Today, we are going to talk about a man who was born in 1805. His name was George Mueller. He lived to be 92 years old. He was never a wealthy man. We wasn’t born into privilege or position. Yet, he did have one thing – faith. He knew that to make a difference was not something that required great intellect or being well connected. It did require, however, a willingness to believe in a power greater than himself – God Almighty.

The difference he made... beyond comprehension.

The Small things and not giving up.

When we think about a life that matters, we often get lost in the big things, like a cure for disease or a major social initiative. But what about the person who makes little steps or does little things for someone out of love? Doesn’t this matter?

Let me tell you a story – Most of us have heard of Heller Keller, who became blind and deaf as a child after an illness. This young lady had a significant impact because of her spirit, courage and genuine kindness. But there is always more to the story… a story behind the story of someone who cared and made a difference.

I share a story here that you are going to want to hear and then share as well.

In America Today, we struggle with a variety of things but two of the most common are anxiety and depression. Sometimes this may be caused by a chemical imbalance that requires medication to help a person work through. Other times, it is because of circumstances –

= Grief over the loss of a loved one or the loss of a significant relationship

    • Financial distress – loss of job, loss of a capacity to earn, stock market losses
    • Persistent feelings of failures and shame
    • I don’t measure up – I am not good enough
    • Im not smart enough – Im too poor
    • Bullying – being bullied or shamed into doing things
    • Disability/ Serious Medical Condition/ Terminal Illness
    • Legal trouble – Criminal or civil
    • Adverse childhood – trauma/ abuse/ neglect
    • Discrimination

    & More

We are going to be sharing the story of a common woman, who showed uncommon courage, that led to a remarkable story that is still be told today. I think you are going to love it.

So often, we look down on ourselves and devalue our worth. Many times that comes from outside sources. I will tell you that when an outside input makes us feel like we are less, then we need to be looking elsewhere for our input. Here are some thoughts that I just dumped on a page. I am writing a book about this topic and would love any ideas or stories.

At end of the day - I want you to get wrapped around one thing -

    YOUR LIFE MATTERS!

If there are negative messages invading your world, mind or your space - it is time to be done with them. If it devalues you - get rid of it - even if it is a person. YOU ARE TOO VALUABLE TO YOURSELF AND HUMANITY TO ALLOW IT ANY LONGER!

One glimpse of what you will hear in this daily dose -

No one fails to make an impact. If we were to channel our own inner George Baily, from It's a Wonderful Life, we would see the truth behind the difference we make. If you are on planet earth, you are doing something and it matters. Even the baby in NICU, who is struggling to be alive is impacting his or her world in ways that we cannot sit here and calculate. So if a struggling infant is making a difference, what does that say for an adult or young person who had a far greater capacity?

It means that your life matters in ways that we are going to discover. Hang in there with me and let's explore it. In this podcast/blog, we are going to be hearing stories - some personal and others from people you have heard of and some you haven't. You are going to hear some statistics and some science, alongside some psychology. Some you agree with, others you won't and that is ok too.

But at the end of the day, I want you to know that your life is significant - YOU MATTER!

    God Bless You,

    Dr. Cliff Robertson, Jr.
