Our Purpose

At Audible, we strive to make a positive impact on the cities we call home because we believe companies can – and should – have missions that transcend financial success. We create innovative solutions to systemic issues by listening to and working with community stakeholders to bring our shared vision to life.

We moved our headquarters to Newark in 2007 to accelerate the renaissance of a great American city and create opportunities for city residents. This mission is inscribed in our People Principles and inspires our days. To expand our community initiatives aimed at advancing equity, racial justice and economic empowerment, we launched the Global Center for Urban Development in 2020. Based in Newark, the center encompasses Audible locations in cities around the world and includes programs and policy initiatives that can be adopted in cities globally.

Our Economic Impact

Audible’s initiatives in Newark create jobs, sustain businesses, attract foot traffic and result in greater employee spend, resulting in over $775 million in economic activity. Imagine what we could do globally.

Community Engagement

A group of Audible employees stand in a circle with a little girl during a volunteer event, their arms crossed over each other to form a ring of held hands at the circle's center. The photo is taken from the top down so the adult volunteers are seen as black t-shirts and hands and partial faces while the girl is clear at the top of frame and looking up and smiling. She is, frankly, adorable.

Newark showed us that great strides begin with open ears. That’s why we listen first, allowing our global footprint to expand our horizons, before looking for ways to help create a positive impact.
