Tim Curry was wonderful. As the book was written in 1864, The verbage and story were very dry at times. I enjoyed learning bits of cultures along the way. It was definitely not as exciting as Hollywood portrays, but worth a listen.

The ending was not bitter sweet. The characters were to die for and were full of flavor. The performance was smooth and woody.
