Story
As a necromancer, Shae loses a little more of himself every time he uses his magic. Always cold, always touch-starved, the only thing that helps is human contact. But that's hard to come by when those same dark powers scare everyone away from him. Nobody likes a necromancer. Arthur's still bitter and broken after his last lover stabbed him in the back, and the last thing he needs is another brush with evil. When he agrees to escort the wandering necromancer north, he's just doing a public service. But he never expected Shae to be so clingy. Or distractingly attractive.

Weak story
Reviewed: 03-27-25
I thought the story lacked true grit. It was not that exciting. And in love in such a short time. Most of the time I think they just used each other.
The narration was good. But could you please pause between the chapters for just a second?

This was so different. Poetry at the beginning of each chapter on different herbs. I enjoyed the three roomies and the house that seems to be living as well.
As always Kirt Graves is the master!! I was glad he narrated the whole book… so good! ♥️

From ex-con to self-made millionaire, there's no challenge too tough for Cash Sweeney to conquer. So why has he spent twelve years pining for his best friend instead of doing something about it? So much love for Ilya and Shane 💙
Reviewed: 10-09-24
First off, I listened to the first two books and this last one. I had to have more of these two guys. They are just so endearing. Ilya loves so deeply, which no one knows but Shane. He hides under a super snarky personality that honestly makes me laugh out loud and drives Shane bat shit crazy at times. It makes most of the hockey world call him a dick.
Shane drove me a bit nuts at times with how afraid he was of being found out. I could see it in their first book but after a decade together and other hockey players coming out he was choosing not to live his life. Which Ilya put up with but it was hurting him as well. Shane also called Ilya names that really bothered me, even when he said them with love. They were derogatory.
Don’t get me wrong I totally love these guys and their story. I definitely have a book hangover 🤕.
This narrator was above and beyond their first book. The Russian accent, as well as others, were done very well.

Story
Pro hockey star Shane Hollander isn't just crazy talented, he's got a spotless reputation. Hockey is his life. Now that he's captain of the Montreal Voyageurs, he won't let anything jeopardize that, especially the sexy Russian whose hard body keeps him awake at night. Boston Bears captain Ilya Rozanov is everything Shane's not. The self-proclaimed king of the ice, he's as cocky as he is talented. No one can beat him - except Shane. They've made a career on their legendary rivalry, but when the skates come off, the heat between them is undeniable.

Wow this 2nd book was so much better than the first. It blew me away. Ilya and Shane have such a unique relationship. They hate each other on the ice but over the years they have fallen in love. I enjoyed the years we get to see and I can’t wait to start their sequel in book 6.

Another Hockey coming out story 🙄
Reviewed: 10-05-24
This is my 1st time with this author. I listened to this because I read that the 2nd book is really good and I don’t like reading out of order. But, this one was the same old story. I now wish I would have just skipped it. I liked Scott and Kip but I’ve read this so many times. And yes it’s my fault for doing it.
The narration was a problem for me. Kip is supposed to have a Boston accent but that was done so poorly. He sounded like a cross between a mob boss and a Russian…and he dropped it a lot of the time. His female voices need work. I realize they are hard to do but many make narrators ace it. I would have just read it but my book didn’t download right so I trudged on. I’m really hoping the 2nd book is better.

Staying away is Kyou’s number one rule when it comes to protecting the sexy real-estate developer. Kyou has a routine. A system. He guards Brannigan Genovese, hacks for his family of choice, and drinks far too much caffeine for any living being. Only a few things can completely disrupt his routine to cause him trouble: Brannigan buying up real estate from the Irish Mob, Kyou’s band of brothers figuring out who Brannigan actually is, Ivan, and feelings for one Brannigan Genovese. Oddly enough, it’s the feelings that get Kyou in the most trouble.

Pop into the unguarded apartment, find the multimillion-dollar Treskilling stamp, pop back out. That’s it, that’s the entirety of Ivan’s plan. What’s not part of the plan? Meeting the cute Aiden Stalworth, feeling guilty about trying to steal from the cute Aiden Stalworth, becoming Aiden’s “Robin Hood” and buying him all the things, playing bodyguard while searching for the stamp, and being trusted completely by Aiden. Ivan very quickly realizes he needs a new plan: seduce Aiden, protect him, find the stamp—and lick him. Licking Aiden needs to be part of the plan too.

This is such a nice change of troupes! Family is so important, but this found family is priceless. They have each others backs in every situation. They love and trust each other and are raising a criminal daughter. It’s pretty funny! Ivan deserves his found happiness in Aiden.
The narrations is stellar. Iggy Toma is a favorite!

I was excited for Harlow’s book. He is such a great character, small but mighty. Bailey is a sweet PE teacher who doesn’t think he’s worthy of love. Snarky Harlow is not deterred, he knows Bailey is his mate and will not give up. When Harlow and his wonderful brothers all end up in Hell it is touch and go whether they will all make it out.
These two narrators are the best! I love them together on a book!

I was blown away by this book. How does one person live so differently in one lifetime? It was astounding how much Charlie could change. He had a beautiful cast of characters that helped him along the way. But I was glad to see that the children in this story had a huge impact on him as well.
The author paints his story with words that make you feel like you are right there with them. This is a book that will stay with me for some time. And like Charlie, every time I eat a mango I will think of this book!!!!
