Story
One of the great fears many of us face is that despite all our effort and striving, we will discover at the end that we have wasted our life. In A Guide to the Good Life, William B. Irvine plumbs the wisdom of Stoic philosophy, one of the most popular and successful schools of thought in ancient Rome, and shows how its insight and advice are still remarkably applicable to modern lives. In A Guide to the Good Life, Irvine offers a refreshing presentation of Stoicism, showing how this ancient philosophy can still direct us toward a better life.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Great advice but drags on at points!

"The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" has a lot of good core ideas and some incredibly funny moments (I would honestly love a book dedicated to just the "Disappointment Panda" introduced in this book!) but the middle moments of the book seem to drag on a bit too much for my taste.

Story
Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer.

Explicit at times but great general life advice!
Reviewed: 07-26-18
I was very skeptical going into this book fearing it was going to be one of those "Alpha" "Beta" type books, but to my pleasant surprise this book was the polar opposite of that! "Models" stresses general self improvement and cultural enrichment as the true way to becoming a more attractive individual.

Story
Hardcore Self Help: F**k Depression is the follow-up to the best-selling F**K Anxiety. In this book I take the information, tips, and insights that I have gained as a psychologist and translate them into language that doesn't suck. This is the self-help book for people who don't usually like self-help books. In Hardcore Self Help: F**K Depression, I talk to you like a friend. That means I speak directly to you, without psychobabble. Instead I tell you why your brain is such a troll.

Decent but difficult to recommend
Reviewed: 07-25-18
The author tries desperately to appeal to a younger generation by using terms such as "Swag" and "Turnt" going as far to use swear words in just about every other sentence. If you can get past those things there is some good information here my favorite being the "Depression Letter" and the chapter on "Gamification" as it applies to self help. (Both having free resources available on the authors website which is also great)

I prefer the advice given in "Never Split the Difference" I feel like the advice given here is the complete opposite of the advice given in that book. The Narrator has so much energy though which makes me enjoy listening to this anyway.
