Very good read
Revisado: 11-21-24
This was a very good story line. I completed this book in just a few short days. Every time I had some time to myself I was ready to hit play! I really enjoyed this book and will definitely look for additional titles by this author!

In 1958 Georgia, the shade of a 13-year-old black girl's skin can make the difference in her fate. Tangy Mae is the smartest of her mother's 10 children, but she is also the darkest complected. The Quinns - all different skin shades, all with unknown fathers - live with their charismatic, beautiful, and tyrannical mother, Rozelle, in poverty on the fringes of a Georgia town where Jim Crow rules. Amazing Story
Revisado: 05-22-23
This was an amazing and gripping story. The narrator was amazing and the story line kept me wanting more. I’m sadden that Delores passed away before completing the sequel to this story. She was an amazing writer. I throughly enjoyed this book and the portion of the sequel that she was able to complete before her passing.

Historia
Charlotte has everything in life that she ever could have hoped for: a doting, artistic husband, a small-but-thriving flower shop, and her sweet, smart five-year-old daughter, Daisy. Her relationship with her mother might be strained, but the distance between them helps. And her younger brother Rocco may have horrible taste in women, but when he introduces his new girlfriend to Charlotte and her family, they are cautiously optimistic that she could be The One. Daisy seems to love Ruth, and she can’t be any worse than the klepto Rocco brought home the last time.
