Story
Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

Story
Eva Kavinsky wakes in a dark cellar, with no memory of how she got here. Imprisoned with her, seemingly at random, are four men. The only way out is the trapdoor in the ceiling – and it's locked. The single clue about what brings them all here is a cryptic message sprayed onto one wall. Connect the dots. Repent. A camera fixed high above reach is livestreaming this whole nightmare to the world. What confessions are they meant to make to their unseen audience?

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Light and refreshing, but very enjoyable.

I listen to many book, but generally read all Steven King books. I do this because I enjoy them so much I never want them to end. In this case I did listen to this one and it was very entertaining. I believe I loved it as I recently lost my dog and would have done anything to save her. However, I did not know this was part of the plot line when I started this book and would have enjoyed it anyway. Stories, especially fairytales are an interesting part of the revisionist history. My personal favorite book or all time is 1984, and I believe that we all should hear the truth, especially fairytales. They were written that way for a reason. Anyway, this book was fun to listen to and a true message was gained by the experience, just as all good fairytales.

The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Book 15 allready? I have enjoyed everything this series has had to offer, it is vast and interesting and at times I am awestruck at the attention to detail. The complex nature of how the different species are somehow codependent upon each other in the bubble of the universe that we feel is so large. I hope that the next adventure is coming soon.

Story
New York, 2061: The place called the Pleasure Academy is a living nightmare where abducted girls are trapped, trained for a life of abject service while their souls are slowly but surely destroyed. Dorian, a thirteen-year-old runaway who’d been imprisoned there, might never have made it out if not for her fellow inmate Mina, who’d hatched the escape plan. Mina was the more daring of the two—but they’d been equally desperate.

Eve Dallas Gets Personal
Reviewed: 10-01-22
Another excellent In Death entry - engaging story tackling sex trafficking and missing persons that hits VERY close to home for Dallas.
I've never seen Dallas use her position, money, and power for vengeance...going to have to digest that for a bit.
I was sincerely hoping for a Charles appearance (Lt. Sugar could have used his insight) but many other minor characters and call backs are included.

You can't kill the dead! Like any good monster, the zombie has proven to be ever-evolving, monumentally mutable, and open to seemingly endless imaginative interpretations: the thralls of voodoo sorcerers, George Romero's living dead, societal symbols, dancing thrillers, viral victims, reanimated ramblers, video-gaming targets, post-apocalyptic permutations, shuffling sidekicks, literary mash-ups, the comedic, and, yes, even the romantic.

Story
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

A hero's story: The Freedom Series
Reviewed: 05-13-22
I do love science fiction and in particular military stories. I do read a few book, and listen to many many more. If you are like me you have suffered through a few, both on the page and others by poor performances by readers, you'll will not be disappointed by by this series on either account.
I enjoyed the idea of the humans be inslaved and fighting for freedom. As it is today we are so divided on so many planes, country, color, race, politics... it only makes sense that we are blind to the things right in front of us. And ofcourse we will someday have to unite to over come the real threats. In these books it was an alien invitation, but it made me think of a bigger picture. I hope you give this series a shot, they had a good story, good solid caratures and a message that needs to be heard.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Reviewed: 12-22-21
This is one of my favorite Audible book series and the stories just keep getting better. I was amazed at the depth of the growth of the main characters, which was only surpassed by the content of the story line. As unbelievable as a solid mass object in the shape of a beer can being a character, to the lovable Captin of the Pirates, I am overwhelmed by my personal connection to them. I am allready in anticipation of the next chapter to this adventure. Thank you to all for make these stories live.
