A Moment For Us by Corinne Michaels is a love story long in the making. Delia Anderson has had a crush on Josh Parkerson since she was 15, but Josh was her best friend’s Alex older brother, and considered her way too young. After their father was disgraced by his Unethical business deals the brothers got together, bought him out and took over the business. Together they decided to build an Inn in Willow Creek Valley. Josh and Delia finally admitted their attraction and gave into it. They become friends with benefits. Delia wants more, but Josh is determined to keep it light. All goes well until there’s a bit of an oops! The condom breaks, and they find they are expecting twins! They decide to parent the babies together but that’s as far as it goes! Josh has issues that he’s dealing with, and deems himself unworthy of being in a real relationship. Corinne’s books are always full of humor mixed with sorrow. This book is no different. It is deeply emotional, and will keep you hooked to the last word! The narrators are superb!

Rising West is a story full of heartache and triumph! Mason West is an acoustic guitar musician who is playing one night gigs in addition to his day job and raising his young daughter. He once had his on band, Eastern Crush, but when his girlfriend and he were in a tragic accident, and she was killed, his band replaced him as he was struggling to raise his daughter. At one of his gigs he was approached by the manager of the band Burn Card. She wanted him to fly out to California for a tryout. Mason was torn. He was reluctant to uproot Brooklyn for something that probably wasn’t going to happen.
Burn Card is a rock band who’s lead singer, Chris announced he was going solo. The problem, he also walked out on hi girlfriend Liberty Blake , the keyboardist. She, her twin brother and two others made up the band.. Liberty wasn’t happy with the choice of Mason. He was too everything! Too handsome, too talented and she was still raw from Chris walking out, but Mason’s talent was undeniable. The band wanted him. Liberty kept her distance. Although Mason joins the band, they are things in his past that haunt him, and an old enemy resurfaces and wreaks havoc for Mason and the band. Through all this, Liberty and he have become closer. This book was wonderful. There is a thread running through it that will tug at your heart. I absolutely recommend it! Jacob Morgan and Nadia Noble as narrators were wonderful!

In Reel,Kennedy Ryan has written an unforgettable book. Neevah Saint is an understudy in a play on Broadway. She is seen by Canon Holt , a director who is looking to cast a fresh face in his new biography about the Harlem Renaissance. He wants a fresh face, someone no one knows, and he chooses Neevah. All of a sudden, Neevah’s whole world changes once she is cast in the leading role. What no one counted on was the instant forbidden attraction between the two. The movie is very ambitious, it spotlights a time when black talent was not ever recognized or celebrated. The story is rich in history and is not without major obstacles Canon is trying to not show favoritism towards Neevah because of his feelings for her. Neevah has to deal with a life altering event. This book immerses you in Harlem during a time of great talent, and allows us to learn about a time that was largely ignored. It is a love story within a love story! It is Kennedy Ryan at her absolute best!

I can not give enough praise for The Anti-Boyfriend by Penelope Ward. Carys is a single mom living with her special needs daughter. Her problem? She lives next door to a guy named Deacon, who has a very active sex life. Apparently the walls are very thin and she can’t help but overhear the activity next door , as they share a wall. One day she screws up her courage to confront him about it. Explaining that the noise keeps her up, and makes it difficult to sleep. Deacon takes the news well and promised to take care of it. They form a friendship, and Deacon meets her baby, Sunny. One night Deacon hears Carys’ daughter crying inconsolably. She won’t settle for Carys, but Deacon offer to hold her , and Sunny quiets right away! Sunny adores Deacon, he and Carys become close friends. This book is so wonderful! It’s emotional, the relationship between Deacon and Carys continues to grow. They each have things in their past that are still affecting them. Deacon’s relationship with Sunny is adorable. This book had some moments that made me gasp, and some that bought tears to my eyes, and it was thoroughly satisfying! Do not miss this book!
