Weak plot, poor development of characters, low level vocabulary, trashy sexual content, redundant use of same phrases throughout story and very short story. We’ve tried every one of the books in the series hoping for improvement. It hasn’t happened. Boring!

Old characters well developed, but needs to let Nikki grow up. There aren’t enough plot twists and crazy antics,. The story is too short. Should read Jana DeLeon’s Fortune series..

I’ve enjoyed every Greg Isles novel until this one. It is long, boring and shallow. It is unhinged ramblings of an author suffering from intellectual incest. This a synopsis of this longer definition from the Church of Reality. “Intellectual Incest is a situation where too many people in a group all think alike and exclude legitimate diverse viewpoints. Not all points of view are intelligent arguments but sometimes when people become too uniform, they fail to evolve for lack of fresh new ideas. The concept is similar to genetic inbreeding. Realists are encouraged to exchange ideas with people who are not of the same mindset because it gives both individuals the opportunity to learn something new. When people hang out with people who agree on everything then there is less opportunity to learn from a new point of view and it leads to stagnation.”

The narrator weird voices made this difficult to listen to. It would be better to just use plain voices.

Short, shallow characters and formula driven. Hopefully the characters will mature and a real plot will follow next time.

I DO NOT like Carter being MIA. Bring him back immediately. I don’t understand why authors don’t allow their main characters to have loving relationships. I’m tired of this. Done!

This didn’t disappoint. This series is one of the few that is being carried forward by a new author after the passing of its creator and remains extremely high in quality.
