Story
Tenley "Ten" Lockwood is an average 17-year-old girl...who has spent the past 13 months locked inside the Prynne Asylum. The reason? Not her obsession with numbers but her refusal to let her parents choose where she'll live - after she dies. There is an eternal truth most of the world has come to accept: Firstlife is merely a dress rehearsal, and real life begins after death.

Not for Me
Reviewed: 07-13-24
I have enjoyed many of Gena's books in the past. I am surprised at how little I cared for this story. It is torture porn. The pain and torture never stops. Characters are shallow and most die quickly. The story borders on nonsensical at times. The narrator does her best, but not a lot to work with in my opinion.

The story is funny, from small chuckles to crying laughing at times. It is unique, sometimes painful reminders about climate change, and very funny. I found the voice actors to be delightful. I like the story, I hope we get more from Kate and Kate.

The Road runs from the unimaginable past to the far future, and those who travel it have access to the turnoffs leading to all times and places - even to the alternate time-streams of histories that never happened. Why the Dragons of Bel'kwinith made the Road - or who they are - no one knows. But the Road has always been there and for those who know how to find it, it always will be!

You are thrown into this story with no premise whatsoever. Eventually some of the context will be explained.
As a story goes it is entertaining. I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on. There are several nauseating historical figures that appear, I found that unsettling. Much of the story is unsettling, I don't know that I got the point or context of the story. The ending is odd and fairly unsatisfying.
There is much to mull through. I am not sorry I listened to this, I just wish that many of the story gaps were closed by the end.

Story
Gifted with meta-human powers, Tori Rivas kept away from the limelight, preferring to work as a thief in the shadows. But when she's captured trying to rob a vault that belongs to a secret guild of villains, she's offered a hard choice: prove she has what it takes to join them or be eliminated. I enjoy Drew Hayes books and this was no exception. The story is an interesting premise about a world with villains and superheroes and their coexistence. It’s action packed and I cared about the characters.
I enjoyed the narration as well. The narrator had a great voice and did a nice job switching between characters and genders.

Story
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

Story
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

Hilariously Funny Story About The End of Times
Reviewed: 04-20-19
This book is a story about an angel and a demon who decide it might be worth trying to save humanity from the end of the world.
The sometimes subtle dry wit of the book is almost non-stop. The characters are everyone you would expect at the end of the world and more. My favorite scene is the corporate retreat that becomes a little too real. I adored the characters and the simple comments that hint at how the characters feel about one another.
The narration is phenomenal, so many voices to create and it was done so well. My favorite voice was Red's. The dialogue was rich and entertaining, top notch stuff.
I made my family read or listen to this book, just so I could laugh about the story with them. In the end, we are all flawed, half angel and half demon, but we do our best to take care of those we love.

Story
Ginger Stuyvesant, an American heiress living in London during World War I, is engaged to Captain Benjamin Hartshorne, an intelligence officer. Ginger is a medium for the Spirit Corps, a special Spiritualist force. Each soldier heading for the front is conditioned to report to the mediums of the Spirit Corps when they die so the corps can pass instant information about troop movements to military intelligence. Ginger and her fellow mediums contribute a great deal to the war efforts, so long as they pass the information through appropriate channels.

Story
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Ove's Story Is A Beautiful Story
Reviewed: 04-20-19
I enjoyed everything about this book; the narration, the story and especially Ove. I was so excited to hear the story I was excited to drive to work and sometimes, just to hear the end of a chapter, I took an extra spin around the block.
Ove is a complicated man, he starts off in the book as a very tight fisted, gruff, sad man. As he takes interest in his new neighbors, you learn about Ove's life. The story is a beautiful blend of his past and his present.
I will be listening to this story again.
