Maddie. I’m a sucker for nerds. So a biology professor who wears geeky ties and doesn’t realize how hot he is, puts every part of my body on high alert. It also means I’m failing his class. There’s only one way to get him out of my head so I can focus. Seduce him. Turns out that boyish innocence isn’t an act, and while Dr. Reid Emerson is a genius, there are many things he’s never learned. His eagerness to catch up takes my breath away. Will he let me be the one to teach him?

Taboo relationship with a slow burn
Revisado: 04-21-22
This is a very slow-burn romance with the taboo relationship of a professor and a student in his class. It's not really angsty and is low on steam. The storyline made sense for the kinda unusual relationship, and the pacing felt right. I particularly enjoyed the friendship relationships that both Maddie and Reid had that supported the narrative and provided some funny moments.
This is my first book listening to Earlywine narrating and I liked his voice well. What was a little troublesome was being able to tell Maddie and Reid apart, which is not always easy in a single narration. I still enjoyed how he brought the characters to life. All in all, I enjoyed the story as well as the narration.

My name is Patrick Neumann, and I have the world’s worst-kept secret — I’m in love with my boss, Aaron (aka: Nyx), and everyone knows it but him. You’d think an award-winning romance author would be able to spot his own happily ever after a mile away, but nope. Aaron is clueless. I could show up on his doorstep in a jockstrap with a rose clenched between my teeth and he’d still think I only want to be friends.

Lives up to its name
Revisado: 11-16-21
I love cleverly plotted stories with lovable characters and Sweet Thing fills that bill. First, I read the print copy of the book and then couldn't help myself from listening to Michael work his magic on these sweet characters. I very much am enjoying the Masters of Romance series with this group of guys writing romance novels and having the type of camaraderie that I adore reading in books. Both Patrick and Nyx were such sweet guys with great chemistry that made it easy to get invested into their love story. I found Sweet Thing living up to its name while providing some enjoyable listening hours. I can't wait for the next book in this wonderful series. (4.5 stars)

Historia
Arlo Wright’s introduction to his sexuality came when he saw his older brother’s best friend, Jack Cooper, in his sweaty football kit. Unfortunately, he didn’t have long to enjoy the revelation because he promptly knocked himself out on a table. Relations between them have never really moved on from that auspicious beginning. Arlo is still clumsy, and Jack is still as handsome and unobtainable as ever. However, things look like they’re starting to change when Arlo finds himself sharing a room with Jack while on holiday in Amsterdam at Christmas.

A listening good time
Revisado: 10-30-21
I really don’t even know where to start on how much I enjoyed listening to this book. I had already read the print book and loved it, but listening to Joel Leslie's outstanding performance made it even better. His voicing of Arlo's wonderful character was divine. It made me so happy listening to it that I have no doubt that I will be listening to it again any time I need a pick me up, or a jolt of happiness. All the stars! So delightfully good from beginning to end!

Kendall is a wonderfully funny character
Revisado: 10-03-21
This was an enjoyable listen in audiobook. The narration was well done with a single narrator who handled the different characters in an easy-to-listen to way. This is my first book by Lacy and I found the writing to be funny with clever, relatable dialogue and a storyline that paced well with a low angst plot. It contained some familiar well-loved tropes such as fake boyfriend, roommates, and best-friend's brother along with a delightfully written character in Kendall that had me laughing repeatedly.

I found a little notebook, but it isn't the address book I was looking for. It's a...it's a journal. I kept a journal! I begin to read, and the first date goes back to less than three years ago - I read things that don't make sense. "I love him so much! I don't think I could've survived what I did to my mom if it wasn't for him. He is always there for me and thank God for that." I move a few pages down to a later date's entry and find more comments about a man. A man I supposedly love.

Well done book with amnesia trope
Revisado: 06-07-21
First of all, I think the cover of this book is perfect! It has been quite awhile since I’ve read an amnesia-focused romance, so I was eager to listen to Meant To Be Gay. I have listened to this narrator before and enjoyed his excellent voice portrayal of characters. This audiobook was just as well done. He is able to make a range of voices that are easy to discern and immensely enjoyable to listen to.
I liked the way the story unfolded with some time changes going to the past and present. Sometimes that can be more confusing in audio, but the narrator handled it well enough that I had no trouble and the author was clear when the changes took place.
All in all, I found this an enjoyable book to listen to and actually liked it better than the first one in the series....plus seeing those characters make a cameo in this book was nice to see.

Really loved listening to it!
Revisado: 05-19-21
Side Character is a short audiobook with great narration. It was a perfect way to spend some time while gardening. The story was fun and made me laugh out loud several times. I listened to Bad Boy first so, I was already acquainted with Gavin’s character and was interested in diving further into his special kind of craziness.
I would easily recommend this book to listen to for the fantastic narration, as well as the story ..... especially if you like charming New Adult tales of guys in college finding out that they are both suffering from lusty-filled attraction.

Historia
They call me a bad boy, and 13 years ago, they would have been right. I’ve done things I’m not proud of. Served time. Broken hearts and bones alike. But I’m a changed man now. I don’t break the law for a living anymore; I write books about guys like me falling in love with other guys. It’s as close to a happily ever after as I think I’ll get.... Until Colton shows up in my remote cabin in the middle of a snowstorm, so timid and young and sweet. I’ve given up my wicked ways, but damn if he doesn’t make me want to do bad, bad things....

A little long with slow pacing
Revisado: 05-14-21
The narration of this book was great! The single narrator really embraced all the different voices with such variety, making it a very enjoyable listening experience. I could easily tell Russ and Colton apart and that makes an audiobook so much better.
The story revolves around an age gap, as well as quite an experience gap. I particularly liked the snowed-in scenario and there were quite a few funny moments with Colton and his fearful nature. There is a lot of steam, but a little unrealistic feeling to it, especially with Colton being a virgin.
Overall, the story was just ok for me. The pacing was a bit slow after a good start. Because I am a fan of this author, I look forward to more of the books in the series about romance authors getting their HEAs.

Great narration that really adds to the story
Revisado: 04-13-21
The narration on this is definitely 5 stars! Even though it was a single narrator, he did an outstanding job of getting the character voices differentiated so the listener could keep everyone in line during the story. Another helpful thing was the fact that a significant enough pause was given between chapters and the changing POVs that sometimes happened within the chapter. I had no problem understanding who was talking, or thinking, throughout the story making it a joy to listen to.
That said, I’m not sure if I would have liked it as much had I read it in print. I did enjoy the fact that things moved along in the timeline fairly quickly. It was just difficult to feel a positive connection with Harvey. I will say that he was probably portrayed realistically in his complete denial of "being gay". I feel this author did write a story different than others that I have read that were GFY, and for that I have appreciation. So add to that the perfect job done in the narration, giving me many moments of laughing out loud, as well as gasping a bit in surprise. So for that, I would call it pretty much a win. (3.5-4 stars)

Fairy tale re-telling
Revisado: 03-27-21
Sweet Tooth is a fairy re-tell of Hansel and Gretel with similar characters taking a little bit of a different form. My draw to the story was the friends-to-lovers trope and the narrator. There were components I liked and some not so much. I especially enjoyed the fact that one of the main characters was a twin and how their banter was really funny. I got a little bogged down in some overly detailed segments that slowed the pacing down.
I felt the narration was very good with a terrific voicing difference for the characters, male and female. Single narrated books can be difficult to listen to sometimes trying to keep characters straight, but that was not a problem here. Really good job.
