Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Amazing Series for All Ages
Reviewed: 01-03-18
As a girl in her late teens, I'm a little late to the Hunger Games party. I watched the films when they were released a few years ago, but didn't feel too intrigued. Now finally reading the books and re-watching the films, I am sad that I couldn't appreciate how wonderful this series really is much earlier. No matter who you are, I believe this is a great listen. Although this series is easy to understand for children in their early to late teens, it does not at all give a cheesy or childish feel for the adult readers. Absolutely would recommend!

New Favourite

This has to be one of my new favourites. As a girl growing up with what seems to be too many allergies to handle, this book is humorous yet touching. This novel has a touch of R&J that is fresh and original. The plot is wonderful and it is a must read for teen romance lovers!

Favourite from the Saga

New Moon has to be my favourite book out of the series. I love the relationship Jacob and Bella have as it gives a realistic perspective on best friend romance. I'm especially fond of the plot in comparison to the other books because it gives you a break from the action packed chapters and simply gives a lot of character build.

Graham Malone is my roommate, my personal eye candy, the reason I get up in the morning smiling. (That could be from the illicit dreams I have about him, too, I suppose. Let's move on.) He's also beautiful to look at, but his heart is where his true beauty lies. Take away the exterior, and the interior still shines. I love him. I mean, I'm pretty sure I do, having never been in love before.

Something to daydream about...
Reviewed: 11-30-16
For a plotline with very few intense climax points, I loved this book! It was absolutely hilarious and the bond between Graham and Kennedy wasn't an over cheesy relationship which I usually find myself feeling towards most pairs. It's for sure the kind of relationship he daydream about having. Sands did a wonderful job portraying Kennedy and I loved her in this particular book. Would definitely for ages 14-18.

Story
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Great Idea and Pretty Good Execution

I love the idea of this book. Time travel and the unnatural. The narrator had good distinguished voice changes for the most part, but had an amateur British accent. I'm excited to see the film. Great book overall!

Enjoyable Series
Reviewed: 07-02-16
I finished this series a couple of weeks ago, but I never wrote a review. I overall enjoyed the plot and the books themselves. It felt slow every once in a while, but that was a rare occasion. The double narration was just amazing. Perfect balance of romance and action for me. I'm excited to see the take of the series in film.

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it's a melting pot where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn't so easy.

Basically The Movie Word for Word
Reviewed: 07-02-16
I've seen Zootopia (aka Zootropolis) over 4 times now. It's definitely one of my favourite Disney movies and as I was listening I could picture the entire movie as if I were watching it. Obviously the narrator is female and not an impressionist so that was noticeable when some of the male characters were speaking, but overall I think Schorr did an amazing job. The book is basically the movie word for word and I think I counted 2-3 difference in sentences in total. If you love the movie, this book is for you. I do recommend watching the movie first as some of the jokes don't translate correctly without the images in your head. I really enjoyed!

I found the friendship of the two extremely amusing and it felt as if I was listening to a podcast. I am a huge of fan of podcasts so this was definitely a book for me. I would not recommend this to anyone who likes more plot to a book as this was a strange of twist of a biography.

I really enjoyed the romance between Malachi and Lela. It was sweet, but also realistic at the same time. I especially enjoyed the ending of Malachi being assigned with Lela. I loved this book.
