Story
At the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, dramatized by the popular film Black Hawk Down, the majority of soldiers who died were killed instantly or bled to death before they could reach an operating table. This tragedy reinforced the need for a revolutionary treatment that could transform trauma medicine. So, when Frank Hursey and Bart Gullong—who had no medical or military experience—discovered that a cheap, crushed rock called zeolite had blood‑clotting properties, they brought it to the military's attention. The Marines and the Navy adopted the resulting product, QuikClot, immediately.

The story, even though a good outline of past events, became a bit wordy as a page filler versus page turner.
I am curious to know who consented and who abstained to the story as it was written.
The processes are much more detailed, and a lot more individuals are involved.
However, I can submit that the system's approach and approval are not much better, no matter the law or policy.

Story
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

Ive been to 3 wars different war areas. I might be a bit grumpy at times. I hate that as a young man they both had to experience the horrors of war on different fronts. This is a quick listen that should probably be a bit shorter. Proud of the authors mission to bring back service member, but thats what this story really was.
