With one more book I think left in this series. This book definitely leads up to the finale with what may be the best fight/battle we’re gonna get to listen to in this series. Amazing all around.

Decent Sequel
Reviewed: 12-02-20
I won’t lie, when a sequel was announced I wasn’t sure on what to expect. I’ve listened to RP1 at least 2 dozen times. To me the beginning of RP2 started off slow but it did get intense. The H5 was still main characters but I do wish the supporting cast like Lo were a bigger part in the story rather than just showing up here and there even though it did seem significant when she did. But overall I did enjoy the book. I really enjoyed the climax and “boss fight” in the end. Caught me off guard with some things that happened that I did not anticipate at all. I’ll definitely take a listen to it a couple more times, but I may end up listening to RP1 more if anything. I don’t think anyone will be severely disappointed in this book as long as you take it for what it is. Happy Listening!!

*Spoilers* Riveting
Reviewed: 04-23-20
So like title said, I will have some spoilers. I didn’t really read the summary about this book. I just got email that it was out and purchased it. Having listened to all the previous ones and loved them, buying this was a no brainer.
Ok so down to the spoiler part.
Now this book was great, hands down. I was upset somewhat that Melvin wasn’t in the book but a mention by name, but another character(s) were. If you have read any other reviews, that would be Will Robie, Jessica Reel, and Blue Man. This caught me off guard when Robie was introduced when he was because not only was I not expecting to hear some sort of crossover but the fact that all 3 main characters in that series made it over. I have been waiting for a Robie book for quite sometime now and hopefully having them in here will do just that in the future. Phenomenal book!! The storyline was great, better than the previous one I believe. But damn. It didn’t have too much of Amos’ memory traits to speak on in here which I think was a breather for someone to remember everything. Made him more “human” I think. Robie had more of a supporting cast than just a one off appearance which I loved. Love me some Will Robie. So hopefully Baldacci’s next book is Robie and Jessica for sure. The team of Kyf and Orlagh was astounding as usual. They go off each other well I believe. Must have in my eyes. And didn’t notice until earlier but this book is my 100th book and probably like 20 of my books are from Baldacci. Grab it. Listen to it. You won’t be unhappy.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

I have listened to this before and just listened to the re-release with Wil Wheaton narrating. As I said on the other one, this one I cannot not listen to it and think of Hell Divers now due to the great R.C. Bray which brings Xavier to life in that book. Now I think Bray does better voices than Wheaton but regardless still a good book. Listen to either one of them. You won’t be disappointed, that’s for sure.

It wasn’t as bad as some reviews have said. Now yes it is different than RC Brays versión but since I listen to Ready Player One so often I just have a liking to Wil’s voice at this point. Now maybe I’ll go listen to Bray’s version. The extra entries at the end were a nice addition to it. Mainly bought book since it was like $4 for the 1/1/20 daily deal the day it came out instead of using one of my credits. So it wasn’t a waste per say. All in all, take a listen. Still a great book regardless and still funny.

Good listen. Definitely gonna be a third book by the end of it. But you can definitely piece some stuff together yourself from time to time. But I do love her voice. She does a great job. As does kyf, makes me wanna listen to couple last David’s books. Hopefully don’t have to wait too long for next one in series. But I will say I do wanna listen to next Will Robie book and wonder when that is coming out. I prefer that book to come out than any other of his work.

In sports, everybody loves redemption stories, the underdog who no one believes in but through sheer hard work wins it all. But no one tells the stories of the players who work hard and don’t make it. In pro football, 53 guys get on the roster. Ten make it to the practice squad. And then there’s the 64th Man - that’s Billy Logan (Cena), who seems to always be one spot from glory.

I enjoyed this audiobook. Yes it may not have been like a truly realistic thing that coulda happened but that’s what I enjoyed the most. The voice cast did a very great job and I could just imagine this happening on a screen. Funny crazy moments. If you have almost 6 hours to spare and want to laugh, listen to this. Hope it takes your mind off whatever it is going on and just allows you enjoy the moment and reminds you that no matter what happens, just keep moving forward. Gives some good life lessons I believe if you can look at it from that POV.

If this is the conclusion, it was amazing. I do wish it was made into a movie series if not than a regular series from like Netflix or someone like that. I would love to see the story unfold on screen. This book does justice for the series ending. X reminds me of like an older Solid Snake from MGS 4 jus battle riddled. Go get this book if you haven’t. Start from first book though.
