I've done yoga and meditation off and on for years. Sometimes the recordings are too fast, sometimes too slow, sometimes too relaxing -- you get it; they don't always work the best for me. Still, there's always something good to take the time to do them, so I always approach them with an open mind.

This one is really great! I feel relaxed, yet energized and my mind is awake and focused.

The narrator really made the story come alive and pulled you into the characters who led such extraordinary lives. I found myself near tears many times and many times nearly choking with laughter. It was a joy to listen to, and an important glimpse into Hawai'i's history.

Where does Smoke Gets in Your Eyes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high. The author is a great narrator and the wisdom she imparts while giving a fascinating peek behind the curtains is excellent.

What did you like best about this story?

The humor, the behind-the-scenes view of the death industry.

Any additional comments?

If you like science writer Mary Roach's book STIFF, you'll love this book, too. Both are fascinating without being morbid.

What did you love best about Caught Dead Handed?

I loved the setting (Salem), the psychic phenomena (well-presented), and the cat, O'Ryan, though you don't really get to know him until the second book.

Any additional comments?

It went a little long at the end (I had already figured out the killer), but I still wanted to keep reading until the end.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Mike Chamberlain?

Not sure. He sounded a little stiff and loud, but maybe he was trying to get the author's enthusiasm across.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

In Juliet Blackwell's "A Witchcraft Mystery" series, she creates a world in which natural witches and witches who had no skills before training exist side by side, each learning and practicing differently, but each having an effect.

What does Xe Sands bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Xe Sands really brings Blackwell's characters to life. I can visualize them better. Excellent narration.

If you could take any character from In a Witch's Wardrobe out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Lily. She sounds like she'd be a good conversationalist.

What made the experience of listening to Dead Ever After the most enjoyable?

The wrapping up of loose ends and the beautiful narration.

Any additional comments?

I've enjoyed the Audible series from the beginning, and though I'm sad to see it go, I'm satisfied with the way Ms. Harris ended the series, and I look forward to her next adventures.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Georgia Thackery. She's independent, witty, and strong. She loves her daughter and her best friend, Sid, and would do anything to help them.

Any additional comments?

Very good depiction of academia and all its politics. Very good banter between Sid and Georgia.

What did you love best about Elisha Barber?

The characters and settings were so well-drawn that even weeks after finishing the book I can see the scenes in my mind.

What did you like best about this story?

The fascinating descriptions of medieval medicine and how the barbers fit into the medical picture, and the inventive depiction of magic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

In the beginning, I dreaded it, but couldn't put it down.

Any additional comments?

The narration was excellent and the magic compelling. I'd recommend it.
