Story
Tonight, Osmond Box, the reclusive yet wildly successful writer/director known for his completely surprising Broadway plays, is debuting his seventh and most highly anticipated production of his career: The Guilty. Nothing is known about the story, the setting, the premise, or even the actors involved. The first people to discover the truth will be the lucky ones sitting in those seats opening night.

Loved it. A bit too wordy and long in places. Could have cut about 30 minutes out. But more twists and turns than usual!! Fun!

Story
It is a cold January morning, and Shetland lies beneath a deep layer of snow. Trudging home, Fran Hunter's eye is drawn to a splash of color on the frozen ground, ravens circling above. It is the strangled body of her teenage neighbor, Catherine Ross. The locals on the quiet island stubbornly focus their gaze on one man - loner and simpleton Magnus Tait.

I don’t care for stories like this where an old hermit is hated and feared for something that apparently happened years ago. I would like to get my money back!!

The small town of Paradise is devastated when a star high-school baseball player is found dead at the bottom of a bluff just a day after winning the team’s biggest game. For Jesse, the loss is doubly difficult—the teen was the nephew of his colleague, Suitcase Simpson, and Jesse had been coaching the young shortstop. As he searches for answers about how the boy died and why, he is stonewalled at every turn, and it seems that someone is determined to keep him from digging further.

You probably haven't noticed them. But they've noticed you. They notice everything. That's their job. Sitting quietly in a nondescript car outside a bank making note of the tellers' work habits. Lagging a few car lengths behind the Brinks truck on its daily rounds. Surreptitiously jiggling the handle of an unmarked service door at the racetrack. They're heisters.

Mickey Haller gets the text, "Call me ASAP—187," and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game. He soon finds out that she was back in LA and back in the life. Far from saving her, Mickey may have been the one who put her in danger.

Too much gutter language

Had to actually turn this story off. Don’t do that very often—only once that I can remember. I have listened to stories where one or two of the characters used 4 letter words incessantly but in this story it is every character. And it is constant. Just too much for me. My husband didn’t like that aspect, but he liked the story and would have continued. I just couldn’t.

Story
It all began with a simple dream. An ambitious young environmental scientist hoped to establish a sustainable farm on a small patch of river-bottom land nestled among the Mississippi hills. Jay Mize convinced his wife Sandy to move their six-year-old son away from town and to a rich and lush parcel where Jacob could run free and Jay could pursue the dream of a new and progressive agriculture for the 21st century.

Where does Soil rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In the top 10
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. Wasn't sure how deep the author would take it....a progression into insanity takes many twists and turns. The character of the wife was very well developed. She is the fulcrum.
What about Brian Hutchinson’s performance did you like?
Loved that he didn't know how to pronounce the fish---spelled "crappie"
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
?????
Any additional comments?
I loved that his insanity sprouted from his desire to grow vegetables organically!
