The first chapter pre Christ was a bit long. I do understand he had to set up the significance of the Greco Roman practice of crucifixion.

Lewis takes you on a long wordy journey to deconstruct our natural assumptions of the world. it was a tough read until the payoff in the last 2 chapters.

I am not sure it is fair that one guy can communicate verbally and on paper this well. I know recently he has been in controversy, but it does not negate the incredible gift he has been given. This book is like most of his work, intelligent, funny, inspiring and anointed. Well done sir...

This in my opinion is one of his heavier works. Take note of his audiance, he is not writing to Christians but devout secularists, materialists and naturalists. As far as that goes the writing is typical Lewis. Logic on fire...

Ferguson presents a highly compelling and rational discussion on what Tim Keller calls "the two thieves of the Gospel." Legalism and antinomianism both rob the Christian of the living benefits of the good news. This is not a new topic, it is as old as sin and we have struggled with it through human history. He is a scholar extraordinaire and does an excellent job explaining the reason for thentwo and how they rob us. the book begins very slowly but by halfway in I was hooked and could not wait to read more!

This is part 2 of Love Does. Just felt like a lot of the same but then around the last 1/3rd of the book it all makes sense. God is using Bob to take us higher and deeper. great stories with a timeless message.
