Loved it, a hard book to put down. The characters in Robyn Carr's books are very believable and there are always some that I would like to meet. This story ran through a lot of serious concerns, but it was great to see how the characters worked it all out in the end.

This is Landon's story and he has a very unique experience growing up with his cousin the King. He works hard to be an honorable person and is finally rewarded for his efforts, but his quest for a better life is still a battle he must fight for.

This was a well titled story, as the main character is made to be a pawn in a number of ways throughout the book. But she survives it all with the grace of a lady and wins her knight while battles are made all around her.
