Story
My name is Charlotte Locke, and I’m an analyst for Section 47, a secret government agency that tracks terrorists, criminals, and other paramortal bad guys who want to unleash their abilities on an unsuspecting mortal world. I have a magical form of synesthesia that senses danger and uncovers lies - making me a stealthy operative. I’m trudging through another day when one of Section’s cleaners - assassins - takes an interest in me. I don’t need my synesthesia to realize that he is extremely dangerous.

Female narrator and story are great
Reviewed: 06-02-21
The male narrator had the wrong accent for what the story and female narrator set up. I think they should’ve stuck with a single narrator. The story was great, I loved the characters, and I would definitely read the next one. I’m not sure I would listen.

Cute Story
Reviewed: 02-12-19
The story is very cute, and the author reads it well. My only problem is the sound it a tad muddy. This is a children's story, so they likely wouldn't care about the sound issues.
Characters did come back from an earlier book, so you might choose to read in order, but I was not confused in the least.

It's as close to normal as a pair of contract killers can get. Jack knows that sometimes being very, very good at what you do can be very, very bad - for those around him. He's gone to great lengths to keep his past from catching up with Nadia. He also knows it's only a matter of time....

Story
If someone observed us from afar, they could claim that our civilization was a civilization of walls. That was its main purpose. Such observers would likely not be able to explain why. I cannot either. Walls do not protect. They just trap and kill. Three short stories about a dystopic future, about people turning into machines, about walls and fences, about the way history works. Three short stories about now.

Story
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of Underland, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers - precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
