Story
The New York Times Magazine’s award-winning “1619 Project” issue reframed our understanding of American history by placing slavery and its continuing legacy at the center of our national narrative. This new book substantially expands on that work, weaving together 18 essays that explore the legacy of slavery in present-day America with 36 poems and works of fiction that illuminate key moments of oppression, struggle, and resistance.

i just finish The Day After Never about a week ago. I could not believe what I was reading. I have never read any of Russell or John books and I bought this book because it was on sell and I love that The Day After Never was going to be a long book. Well this book hit so close to home in so many ways that I pray The Day After Never never happened in my life time or may it never happen ever. because life would be very close to life inside the Day After Never this could happen to our world. I love both of your forthoughts and how you brought this book to life. This is a very very good read. Thank you for helping me see what could happen if this Corona virous take over our world. We must fight this monster.
