Story
Walk. Scavenge. Destroy. Trade. A simple cycle that's suited Ronin for 185 years. With no clear grasp of his programming, the barren wasteland known as The Dust offers him purpose, a place where his armored undercasing, amped-up processors, and advanced optics can be put to use. The ramshackle towns on the edges of the waste serve merely as resupply stations between increasingly long treks. But one night - one human woman - makes him question everything.

Surprisingly good

I did not expect such a good si- fi story from a racy romance novel. This book was fast paced and entertaining from start to finish. Lots of things happening… instead of he said - she said dialog! Not a war or military book either! Yeah! If you like romance or si- fi you will love this book. Narration was also fantastic with real narrators and great voices. I guess I now have a new author to follow.

Gay but good, constantly entertained
Reviewed: 09-12-24
Read this book. This is a war book.. that is NOT about fighting, or shooting or military stuff. It is about hiding out in the mountains from indiscriminate carpet bombing. The horrors of torture, and how people on both sides justify and deal with their emotions when faced with impossible decisions. The book just kept getting better and better. It is a saga and should be made into a movie or series. Great Twists and turns. Also, Well written and highly educational. Again you will love it, even if u do not like the gay parts, which are not too graphic. If you just let the love and anger, and the main characters over reaction to gay discrimination play out.. all of that becomes an intrigued part of the twists and turns.

Virtual voice made boring stories worse
Reviewed: 07-17-24
The stories had very little plot, were not entertaining, and ended abruptly. They also seemed like they were written in the 50’s or 60’s as they talked about crew on the bridge of the space ship having to wind gears and read computer cards. Over all not worth the time to listen to them.

Was this written by an ai?
Reviewed: 07-10-24
I am beginning to believe that the books with ai voice were also written by artificial intelligence… because what author would agree to harm their book and loose their readers with this type of sub par ai narration. The story is actually pretty good, and the ai voice is super attractive and pleasant. but is much like the other books narrated and I suspect… written by ai… they are all good but lacking in wit, twists, and, new ideas, and actual emotional character development. It reads like an ai put together a bunch of average si fi books.. the action moves on quickly keeping you interested, but it lacks cohesiveness and the smooth transition from one sub story to the next. For example people are introduced, then killed and then the story moves on without the survivors looking back at with emotion and trauma from what just happened, like a real author would have probably done. Overall if it is included listen to it because it is not bad. If you have to pay for it you may want to choose a book you know was written by a real author. Note: This is a zombie book but not an unbelievable type of zombie. They are the result of a pandemic“

Story
It started as a routine Miami to Charlotte flight for the passengers, crew, and Federal Air Marshal Stephen Mason. But a freak storm over the Atlantic propels the airliner unexplainably back in time to the early 18th century. They find themselves on the sparsely populated coast of the Carolina Colony. Charles Town is the only English settlement of any size in the area. It's an inhospitable place of vast plantations, slavery, hostile natives, tall ships, and marauding pirates.

Good book. Entertaining enough to buy
Reviewed: 06-15-24
Not really a science fiction, they simply accidentally time travel and then try to survive. Not a fantastic book but much better than the terrible books I have been trudging through lately that are filled with dialog and very little plot or drama. This book has very little dialog, instead it has a plot, drama, and is easy to follow., just nothing unusual or new, but entertaining. Worth the read.

Excellent story & virtual voice not bad
Reviewed: 05-11-24
It was worth the credit. The story was exciting and captivating from the first word till the end. It had about 6 characters so was simple and easy to follow. The virtual voice was really quite good, I normally hate them. The only negative was it seemed like it was translated from another language because a lot of the connective words like “ a, and, the“ were missing. An editor should have added those in or a real human narrator would have naturally added those in. Over all… interesting, non war, non fantasy entertaining novelette. This is a short book… but longer than a short story.
