Pretty good... but the ending is sappy

Worth a credit. But the ending... made me cringe, There's "happily ever after", and then there's sickeningly sappy... Rewrite?

I have a type. I love the good guy. Responsible and stable. Safe. So when a beer-drinking, quick-witted, tattooed hockey player asks me to tutor him, I'm suddenly thrust into the world of bad boys and bad decisions. Jordan is a renowned player on campus. He doesn’t take anything seriously, except hockey and partying. But he gives me butterflies. I’m a wallflower tutoring Valley University’s hottest player.

I never intended to actually send the email. I’m not crazy. It was just a way to vent. I actually did need the money way too much to go off on my boss. Only when I went into office the next day, there was a note on my desk. It read, “A million years is up. See me in my office.”

Story
The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

Do you draw the line at fake pregnancies?
Reviewed: 01-15-22
I'm good with unbelievable plot lines and often buy books for their escapism value. But I guess I draw the line at fake pregnancies. I realize that fake fiancé plot lines have been done so many times before that an author would want something to make the premise fresh and new. But pretending to be pregnant when you aren't leaves me feeling physically ill. Not a fun, forgivable lie- along the lines of pretending to have cancer when you don't. Too important to lie about. For me, Ms. Quinn crossed an invisible line I didn't even know that I had. Brings up thoughts of real life people whose lives / families have been destroyed by manipulative women and / or faked pregnancies.

Story
I’m a hot-as-eff, inked-up tattoo artist at the trendiest shop in the Rocky Mountains. I have the looks; I have the bike; I have the reputation. That means I get the ladies. Sure. There are lots of women out there who hate tattoos. Wouldn’t be caught dead with guys like me. And that’s fine. I’m not looking for girls like that. I’m looking for that other kind of girl. The hot one, the bad one, the crazy one. Funny thing is...the one I fell for isn’t that girl. She’s the good girl.

Story
Let me ask you a question: If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose? Word around campus is...it was no accident. That injury has cost me everything - my starting position, my junior year, and the draft. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety girl with freckles in the dining hall.

Story
Cleopatra Paige hates one thing in this world - just one - and his name is Zachariah Prince. In grade school, he pulled at her pigtails. In middle school, he spread false rumors about her. And in high school, he ruined her prom. She hates that his smirks are unfairly sexy. And she definitely loathes that his dark eyes seem to follow her everywhere. Sometimes, even in her dreams. It doesn't matter that he's rich and popular, or that he lives in a freaking mansion full of butlers and maids. He's rude and arrogant, and she wants to stay as far away from him as possible

too disfunctional... too juvenile...

I really wanted to listen to this. The writing style is actually pretty good. But the characterizations... they're supposed to be young adults, but they act like middle school kids. Emotional baggage can be interesting... but after multiple tries I gave up on this. Reminds me of the middle school crowd who always wore black... misery, angst, but no growth.

needs a complete re-write
Reviewed: 07-25-19
Ms. Sharelle,
How about a re-write? Premise of a single biker dad and a swearing toddler is interesting. But the rest? How about problems with her mouth and the need for someone from the outside to teach her manners? The need to prepare her for life outside the compound? You would need a REALLY interesting reason that her dance teacher would take this on....a family member with a tie to the child's mother? A reluctant pairing of the biker and the dancer in a common cause that SLOWLY develops into something more? Just some thoughts... You've got some unique, interesting ideas but they need work.

Story
Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled—until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

couldn't handle the sleaze factor-
Reviewed: 06-12-19
Why the big secret? Wouldn't this story have been more interesting if she had been upfront? Said her boss really really wants this guy at her firm? Probably would make her partner if he decided to switch firms? It could have been something they talked about.... her lack of honesty and integrity made the main character too sleazy for my taste. Trying for the stereotypical attorney slant? Couldn't finish it....

Story
Lucas Thorn wasn't born a cheater. All it took was a single moment - say, a certain disastrous incident on the night before his wedding - and boom. Reputation destroyed forever and always. So now he owns it. He has a lady friend for every night of the week (except Sundays - God's day and all), and his rules are simple: No commitments. No exceptions. But a certain smart-mouthed, strawberry blonde vixen is about to blow that all to hell.
