A small-town, opposites-attract romance from the bestselling author of Last Stop on the Winter Wonderland Express! Perfect for cozying up by the fire this fall! 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 Can love grow in the most unexpected of places …

Lucy would have done anything for her mom … but she never expected to promise to leave her. After her mom got sick, Lucy dropped everything to take care of her, working all hours in a greasy diner just to make ends meet, and spending every spare moment she had by her mom’s hospital bedside.

Now, Lucy is faced with a whole year of living by her own rules, starting by taking the first bus to anywhere.

Except, she didn’t expect to find her next big adventure just around the corner … when on her first day in town she bumps into grumpy, but oh-so-delicious Clay amidst the maple trees.

Surrounded by the cosy magic of Connecticut, could Lucy have the chance to change her future forever … and finally discover a life she wants to live?

I loved the story, but the narration is just awful. if I could hold and read a physical book right now, I'd have switched and exchanged this audiobook. It kept detracting from the story. So dull and monotone, and no life to the characters whatsoever. it was more like listening to one of the original books on tape where they literally just read the book without giving the characters any definition.

although the story was good, it was hard to listen to. the narrator sounded like an old lady, so it was pretty hard to picture the characters as anything but people who lived in an old folks home. and she read soooooo slowly.

The book is lovely but as stated in the headline the narrator is god awful. I have a library of 1,000 plus audiobooks. I made a careless mistake and bought another of the authors books with this narrator I was simply unable to listen to it. I will be more careful going forward. I have yet to refuse to buy a book because of the narrator but there is a first time for every thing.

Lucy's Mom has encouraged her to travel for a year before beginning a 6 month art program. She's worried about her mom's illness, but decides to listen to her anyway. She ends up in a small town where she meets Clay. He's working on getting his maple farm ready to harvest syrup and he reluctantly hires her. Over time, they figure out what needs to be fine and learn more about each other.
Claire is a little naive, but overall not a horrible character. Levi is likeable and you're able to connect with him the more you read.
