Highly anticipated and worth the wait!

I pre-ordered this book as soon as it was available because I loved The Hating Game so much. It set the bar high and I was worried that it would be impossible to reach the same level of awesomeness. But I loved 99 Percent Mine too. The characters felt so real and well-developed. They were flawed in relatable ways. The story was interesting and lovely. It made me want to be a little braver and a whole lot more loving to the important people in my world. It is a fabulous listen!

Couldn't finish it

I only got about 7 hours into it and I couldn't listen to it one more minute. I've only quit listening to a book a handful of times. I've listened to a book at least one a week for the last 7 years.
The narrator was ok ... it was sometimes hard to differentiate between the male and female voices. I didnt care what happened to the characters. I felt it was all shallow and petty. Maybe it gets better at the end, I just couldn't get there.

Solid

Solid romance, quick read- very different attitude for a protagonist than the usual whiny and sensitive lead- I really liked the change and the book was very enjoyable.

Tried and True Love Story

If you are wanting a “lost in someone else’s love” kind of book, Sally Thorne delivers. It’s cheesy and chummy, and somewhat predictable. That’s exactly what anyone needs when they need a break from their reality.

Real Sally Thorne Fans Will LOVE

If you loved The Hating Game because you were obsessed with the characters and the addictive dialogue, then you will love Sally Thorne's next standalone, 99 Percent Mine. Sally has a writing style that is so relatable and that just draws you in completely.

Darcy and Tom have a constantly simmering chemistry that cannot be matched.

cute book!

I thought this was actually better than The Hating Game! this love story seemed way more believable.

Loved it from start to finish- even had bonus material

I’ve already told 2 friends about this book. It’s so fun. Darcy is relatable and interesting, Tom is that guy you loved forever and always dreamed about- strong, flawed, but still someone’s “perfect”. Of course, we have to have someone be a dick and we got that in Jaime. I didn’t love him but didn’t hate him either. The characters fit their roles and nothing felt disjointed or out of place. I actually ended up staying in the car an extra few minutes each day just so I could hear more.

I am always up for a light romance and this hit the spot. Not too much sex but just enough spice for those who need it a little more on the tame side. Very fun.

Loved it!!

I LOVED The Hating Game and because I loved it so much I was skeptical (but hopeful) that Sally Thorne could write a book equal to it. SHE DID!!! I LOVED 99 Percent Mine as much if not more!

Fun Listen!

I enjoyed listening to this on a four-hour ride back and forth to the lake.

Great hook, sub-par execution

The narration was good. I have no complaints about the voice characterizations or narrator tone.

After reading The Hating Game, I had higher than average expectations for this book. Compared to her first novel, Sally really missed with this one. The plotting was great, the story arc promised, and the romance was hot, but the execution was just so lackluster.

Darcy was unlikeable and didn’t really grow throughout the book. She was extremely possessive of Tom to the point it was almost like a child who couldn’t share. Although I liked that he was compared to a wolf at the beginning, she still kept thinking of him as a mutt even at the end, like he wasn’t a real person but just her pet that she put a collar on and now was hers.

However, my biggest point of contention was the amount of dead end story beats. The story started in a bar that never came into play again, and introduced several characters who never re-appeared. The grandmother and brother were supposed to be really important, but actually had no effect on the plot. And worst of all, Darcy’s heart condition which was stressed so much turned out to be just a plot device and her ending up with Tom magically healed her apparently.

As I said, my expectations were high. I did finish the book and it was mildly entertaining, though the writing was cringeworthy in parts. I am not giving up on Sally yet, but I definitely think this one was a flop.
