Historical romance readers can’t wait to learn The Truth about the Duke, Caroline Linden’s wonderful series about three English brothers on a quest to restore their family name, seek their fortunes, and find true love. The Way to a Duke’s Heart is the thrilling final chapter, as a charming, pleasure-seeking nobleman takes on the serious business of uncovering a blackmailer, and enlists the help of a beautiful, no-nonsense businesswoman who, against her better judgment, finds herself falling for the rake. A RITA Award-nominated author who, as Julia Quinn says, “touches every emotion,” Caroline Linden once again demonstrates why she is a true fan favorite, especially for those who adore the exciting romantic adventures of Liz Carlyle and Elizabeth Boyle.

Likable characters, good conclusion to the series. I wish it had a little more excitement or faster pace, but other than that, it was a good all-around story.

Classic Linden

I suffered through the narrator’s performance for the sake of an interesting plot. The characters are interesting; irritating at times, sympathetic at others. But oh, that narrator! In the male characters, he is invariably arrogant and pretentious. The female voices are either giggling, pretentious, or too masculine. A couple of characters are portrayed like this in the book — but all of them? I’ve listened to a lot of audio books, but I’ll keep a lookout so I never have to endure this narrator again!!

Good story, Worst narrator ever

I complained about the first 5 books which failed to furnish a satisfying ending and this one finally did. I can't say that this was my favorite book out of the group but it was interesting to pass time on a winter's day. Some parts were a little long winded and Tessa bordered on priggishness. The reader was annoying and I would not listen to another book with him as a reader.

The narration was so difficult to listen to, I adjusted the soeed upwards and still could hardly stand it. I like Caroline Linden, though this wasn't her best effort, but next time I think I'll choose the print version.
