An instant New York Times bestseller! “Grown exposes the underbelly of a tough conversation, providing a searing examination of misogynoir, rape culture, and the vulnerability of young black girls. Groundbreaking, heart-wrenching, and essential reading for all in the #MeToo era.” —Dhonielle Clayton, New York Times bestselling author of The Belles

Award-winning author Tiffany D. Jackson delivers another riveting, ripped-from-the-headlines mystery that exposes horrific secrets hiding behind the limelight and embraces the power of a young woman’s voice.

When legendary R&B artist Korey Fields spots Enchanted Jones at an audition, her dreams of being a famous singer take flight. Until Enchanted wakes up with blood on her hands and zero memory of the previous night. Who killed Korey Fields?

Before there was a dead body, Enchanted’s dreams had turned into a nightmare. Because behind Korey’s charm and star power was a controlling dark side. Now he’s dead, the police are at the door, and all signs point to Enchanted.

This book was really good, but also frustrating. frustrating because, as a mother, I just kept wanting to tell Enchanted: no, baby, don't do that!! I'll definitely be checking out this author's other titles.

No baby!!

I'm not a fan of flashbacks but I understand what the author was trying to accomplish. And I'm assuming her mentioning it wasn't based on Rkelly for legal purposes because the storyline is parallel to his case and the accusations against him.

Overall okay

I was pulled into this story from the first chapter and while I screamed at Chant quite a bit for her choices, I walk away with a clear understanding - no one believes victims of sexual assault. This is especially true when celebrity is involved.

Tiffany D. Jackson has another hit! If you haven't read it, READ IT! You won't be sorry.

Believe Black Women!

This book offers powerful insights about the victims, survivors, and loved ones subjected to sexual violence. It’s most essential for those who are not so familiar with these atrocities. We need to believe women and girls when they say they’ve been abused. Keep them safe. Offer support and know the signs. Don’t blame the victims! Hold the perpetrators accountable!

A must read!!
