This is a must read, so evocative, I feel like I have seen and felt a place that I have never been to.

A quick read and so eloquently written. Recommended! Audio book was great to listen to!

Poetic prose

Took more than a minute to get into the cadence of this storytelling. Was initially drawn to the book being a native Queens girl (now woman) of color.
Touching stories. Relatable. Enjoyable narration.

Brown Girls: A phenominal story and narration!

As a Long Islander, who has relocated to the Midwest, I saw my childhood, teenage years and adulthood come to life. I am so grateful for this wonderful narration of Brown Girls, a story that I have a place in as a brown woman who once was a Brown Girl.
