The new novel from former Met detective turned author Kate London, one of the rising stars of crime fiction.

Please don’t let me die. Please don’t.

When a teenage boy steps out of the shadows of Gallowstree Lane and asks a passer-by for help, it’s already too late. His life is bleeding out on the London street. The murder threatens to derail Operation Perseus, a covert police investigation into the Eardsley Bluds, an organised criminal network. Detective Kieran Shaw can’t and won’t allow that to happen. But 15-year-old Ryan has other ideas.

He’s witnessed the death of his best friend, and now he wants someone to pay....

As loyalties collide, a chain of events is triggered that threatens everyone with a connection to Gallowstree Lane.

Critic reviews

“The new rising star of crime fiction....” (Tony Parsons)

“Gripping” is, I think, the usual word critics use to describe the way this book grabbed and held my attention. I tore through it in two listens and found myself standing still with my hands in the dishwater— not washing dishes like usual while I listen to audiobooks.
It’s surprising that this book hasn’t had more listens/reviews. I highly recommend. The richness and diversity of Kate London’s characterization reminds me of Robert Galbriath. The tone and pacing of this book, though, are immediate, desperate, and brutally, vividly real.
All the stars, thumbs way up, high fives, and exclamation points. Love it.

Couldn't wait for the next season of "The Tower" ( which is based off this series) so was happy to find this! Just as gripping as the t.v version and fabulous narration!

Great!

Tried to listen to this book but threw in the towel. Just didn’t go anywhere. Been a good coronavirus read.

I gave up
