No PDF

There needs to be a PDF with this! Otherwise it’s fairly good, with good performances.

No pdf

I thought there would be a pdf to read while listening. Without it, it’s hard to follow, and there’s no way to look up words you don’t understand.

Harder than you think

It's hard to learn another language when you don't know what the words actually mean. If it's not intuitive, which it isn't, the challenge is paramount.

Really boosted my listening ability

Loved the actors. I felt like a fly on the wall, enjoying the story. Very fun way to become functional in a second language. But now I want more!

Just what I needed with the sounds of home

I grew up with Mexican Spanish spoken around me, but never learned the language. Now, living on the border of Portugal and Spain, I decided for practical reasons to learn Spanish, also because I sometimes attend meetings held in a mix of Spanishes from Latin America (which I struggle to follow with intermediate Portuguese). These conversations are perfect as the comprehensible input I need now to improve. The voices and the storyline are quite engaging as well. I picked up the Kindle version to read, which I do with the audio recording as support. Wonderful!!!

Enjoyable way to sharpen your Spanish listening skills

This is the second “100 conversaciones” audiobook I have bought, this one and another in the Spanish of Spain. Both were great ways to practice language skills and enjoyable stories, but this one is even better because there is a full cast of readers and it is easy to distinguish who is talking. Each conversation is natural everyday language but they all work together to build an interesting story. Learning a language is challenging and we need different sources to keep things interesting. This audiobook is definitely a very enjoyable and helpful tool in your arsenal.

Excellent for Listening Comprehension!

Excellent book!! I've only studied Spanish on and off before but decided to put the physical book on my Christmas wishlist. I realized it didn't come with audio, so I got this separately. Sometimes I would follow along in the book while listening to this, but more often than not, I would purely listen to the chapters. I love that each episode is only about a minute long and that I can adjust the speed of the audiotrack and keep listening to parts that I couldn't catch the first time. The author stresses getting a lot of input (extensive vs. intensive) for language learning, and I have to agree after my experience with this book because my Spanish has *actually* improved even though I haven't focused very much on understanding every detail. Just try to get the gist of it and go through more material. Some grammar concepts I didn't grasp before became clearer to me, although of course, there's still a lot of stuff like certain verb conjugations and pronoun usages I still struggle with. The point is: I've vastly improved my Spanish and enjoyed the process thoroughly.

Other things: Tavo's mother's voice is quite annoying, but she's not a main character, so she doesn't have that many lines :) The story itself wasn't excellent but interesting enough and short enough that I finished it easily (I didn't have to force myself to make it to the end). The character of Abram is such a cliché, but I guess the drama has to come from somewhere 😆

The Audible story enhanced the written book.

After reading through the book the first time, I knew I had to get the Audible story also. The two go together to make a great set of lessons to learn Mexican Spanish. I hope Olly Richards hurries up with another book.
