He's cocky, seven feet tall, scaly, and green. She's been burned in the past. Can an alien and a human woman find true love together?

Burned by an ex, the last thing Evie wants is a husband, especially a seven-foot-tall, green-skinned alien. But when she applies to the Extraterrestrial Matchmaking Service on a dare, she's paired with Vork and sent to Crakair as a mail-order bride. Vork is big and dangerous, and he hits all her buttons. Passion sparks between them, but does she dare trust this sexy alien with her heart?

As a career spacefleet commander, the last thing Vork has time for is a mate. But after a mix-up, he's matched with a human female. He decides he'll produce a child with her, then get back to his life in the stars. Until he touches Evie and a matebond flares on his palm. When a rival warlord challenges Vork and Evie is the prize, Vork will have to decide: give Evie up, or battle to the death to claim her as his bride.

Vork is book one in the Mail-Order Brides of Crakair series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Not sure why but this story was a little boring; I was easily distracted from it. Storyline was much of the same in the genre; didn’t have enough action or drama to hold my attention. The guy on the cover could definitely hold my attention. Narrators were fine, the story could be better.

Okay

I just couldn’t get on board with the female narrator. Teddy is always solid. But I think the story would’ve been better if I’d have read it or there was different female lead. While a very nice voice, it was like she was simply reading the story in a monotonous staccato. Unfortunately I can’t listen to more hours of her in the rest of the series but may read them.

Ok, but maybe a better read

(Vork & Evie): this is a great start to the series. The author has created a world that is quite literally out of this world. She does a great job of giving examples of what things on this planet look, taste and smell like. It's almost like you're there. Vork is an alpha male but one with a busybody mother who's anxious for grandkids. She signs him up to receive a bride from earth. Evie isn't interested in a husband but peer pressure and the word "dare" is hard to resist. So she signs up to be a bride and is paired with Vork. Almost immediately you can feel the pull off the chemistry between the two and it's hot. I love the concept that this particular breed of alien has specific things they have to do in order to court their brides/mates in addition to the laws set forth by the human government. Both characters have a good backstory and Vork's is essential to the danger that could be coming Evie's way. It's really good. I liked it all.

great start to the series

Ava Ross does it again! I love her serials! Sexy, funny, and sweet. Teddy Hamilton and Tawnia Murray do a sound performance.

Short and simple review:

Hit my alien itch in alllll the right places.

Vork and Evie are hilariously addictive and I totes wouldn’t mind bathing in a pool of bugs if I have my own super tall green alien to hold me.

I am HOOKED!
