This is a manifesto for the 99 percent.

Unaffordable housing, poverty wages, inadequate healthcare, border policing, climate change - these are not what you ordinarily hear feminists talking about. But aren't they the biggest issues for the vast majority of women around the globe?

Taking as its inspiration the new wave of feminist militancy that has erupted globally, this manifesto makes a simple but powerful case: feminism shouldn't start - or stop - with the drive to have women represented at the top of their professions. It must focus on those at the bottom and fight for the world they deserve. And that means targeting capitalism. Feminism must be anti-capitalist, eco-socialist, and anti-racist.

A few trite and repetitive phrases in the narrative, and occasional incongruities between written content and narrator tone, but overall a critically important and helpful outline of the specific social problems that a holistic, sustainable, effective feminism seeks to confront and dismantle across human cultures.

Reminds me about the board game, Monopoly, how the point of end game is that no one has money to buy from the monopoly owner anymore. I wish this book slowed down and went into more detail on late-stage capitalism instead of glossing over examples so quickly to rush to the point.

This was very insightful. The women that pulled this manifesto together had me in mind. As a Feminist, sometimes you don’t want to hear the question, “what type of feminist are you?” I always say I am a feminist the fight for all women and all issues that oppress our people.

I really applaud the women and how they came together to breakdown what a feminist means. They did not leave anyone out, but they included all people.

This is a must read for not just women but for everyone!

This piece helped me tremendously in understanding and articulating what I see so flawed in today’s society, and helped me see a path forward. I could not recommend it any higher.

Everybody should read this, even if you dont identify with 'mainstream' feminism (aka liberal feminism)
