What You’ll Learn
This course includes Lessons 1-5 from the Spanish Level 1 program featuring 2.5 hours of language instruction. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. A challenging and humbling time commitment

Each day's lesson is 30 minutes long. The program says that you "Can" listen to a lesson multiple times a day. I wish they replaced "can" with "should". I tried several times to complete this over the last few years. I would get to about less than 3 or 4 and quit. I had much more success when I committed to listening to each lesson three times in a day. some people may not need that. some people may need more.

Each lesson pushes you. after listening to each lesson a couple of times, you feel like you've mastered that day. the next day should be easier right? NOPE! the program is designed to push you every day.

I am skipping the reading lessons until the end. part of the instructions state that it's important to learn the sounds of the language. the reading portion is important later on on the road. but you have the choice to do it along the way or skip it to the end.

advice: fall in love with the struggle. this is like building a muscle in the gym or learning something new for a job or long distance running. it isn't going to be easy like reading cliff notes to Skip reading a novel. You have to do the work to get the benefit. It isn't like being entertained listening to an audiobook. Don't give up.

I do not come from a multilingual part of the world. the humbling part of this experience is language is something that we learn as infants and often take for granted and how challenging it can be to learn to speak.

Learned so much Spanish in 5 days

Good beginner course. Wish the book was longer. Also, I could have done with little less repetition.

One of the best I’ve used

I’ve wanted to learn Spanish for some time. Took it multiple times in school but very little stuck. I bought this program hoping it would be helpful and surprisingly it is one of the best I’ve used thus far.

The lessons are easy but not simple. They are long enough without being too long so you don’t get overwhelmed or bored. And they stick to things that a relevant up front. If I skip a day I go back and listen to the prior lesson again on a fasted speed and see if I can keep up. If not, I repeat the lesson at the normal pattern and continue on. Sometimes I just repeat the lessons to get a better grasp.

I like that they weave in prior learning to current lessons so as to keep reminding you along the way. That along with the vocabulary seems to be doing the job. After the next few chapters, found in another audiobook in the series, I’ll see if I feel confident enough to try with my Spanish speaking friends. Mostly I find they talk soooo fast it’s hard to keep up yet. Again the reason I speed up the lessons when I repeat them.
